Just got my 3.5SE and the Bose is really good but I want to put in my JL Audio 10" sub-box with PPI 200 watt amp.

Has anyone tapped into the Nissan stock system and added a sub-woofer. In my previous cars I have ran power right off the battery, tapped the input from the rear speakers with a signal reducer and the hard part is finding a low voltage signal to turn on the amp (ie. power antenae)....any ideas.

Albeit unprofessional, check your fuse-box for an Accessory-On circuit or some other acceptable source. You'll probably find the R(+) lead for the factory radio in there. With the wiring color code for your vehicle in hand, you can tap that wire pretty easily without having to perform major dash-board surgery. Then just run the lead from the fuse panel back to the trunk under the carpet and sill covers as normal.
Heck, I knew a guy that used to simply mash the wire into an acceptable fuse socket and then just replaced the fuse to hold it in place. eh...to each his own.

good luck

If your going to run any kind of amplifier and want nice clean sound, you not only have to give the amp proper power, but that power needs to have the least ammount of resistence. For a 200watt PPI amp I would suggest that you run a 8-gauge power cable that would come from the battery to a sealable fuse or circuit breaker as close to the battery as possible, then run the cable through the firewall, along the lower door sills and through to the trunk. Do not forget to use the same gauge of cable for grounding purposes. This would be the idea power solution for your PPI amp. Its not too expensive and if you give yourself a few hours you should be able to do it yourself. Remember to use either gold or platinum plated connectors. Just remember to buy all the parts and the right length of cables ahead of time or you'll be cursing yourself upside one hill and down the other while your throwing everything back together to go back to the stereo store. If you have any more questions, please let me know. I would be happy to help.

I need help on my 2002 Alty too....
I need a self-POWERED subwoofer, I am familair with SAS, but is there anything else out there? Also, I don't want to have wires everywhere, so besides the battery, where else (preferably in the trunk or AC outlet in the armrest)can I link the juice to make it run? It's a lease, and I don't want to go all out like I have in my 200 SX, even though it seems I may have to buy this beauty! Thanks..

The Infinity Basslink Powered Sub-woofer might do the trick, I've seen reviews saying it has better sound and punch than a Bazooka.
Plus, you can fit it beneath one of the front seats as far as I know.
Check on the web, it's sold for around $250 in some places. I'm planning on getting one pretty soon.
Good luck shopping.

I don't know how smart it would be to try and tap into a powersource other then directly to the battery. To burn down a 2002 car would be a shame, especially over something like a 20 cable and an hour of your time.
