I am going to get spacers to bump the wheels out on my s14. I rushed into buying the wheels last year and got 17x7", +42 offset. Anyone have any idea what size spacer I'd need to get these wheels flush or at least close to flush? I can already tell the rear will need wider than the front.

I run 15mm-front/20mm-rear on my s13 coupe - should be close for the s14, although I know that there is a little more room, especially out back, on the s14.

What type of spacer are you using, I'm trying to decide between the H&R or ones off performancewheel.com . Only thing is that I only see 25mm max width for the H&R and don't think that is going to be enough for the rear.

I am using H&R. 25mm will be more than enough in the rear with a +42 offset - that will bring them out to +17! You might even need to add negative camber if you are running that low of an offset in the rear!

Does anyone know how much spacer can be used on an S14 and still keep it safe (keep enough threads left for the lug to grab good and tight)?
Thanks,

Why not just get longer lugs?

I wouldn't go any more than a 1/4" without getting longer lugs.

Has anyone used (or heard about people using) the H&R 25mm spacer? It is the model where the spacer is bolted to the hub using the regular studs and then the spacer has its own lugs that you bolt the wheel to? Sounds questionable but they look like a quality part and cost about $150.
Thanks,
Andy
