I have a 97 240sx and I was planning on installing a turbo kit but I have a few questions on the small details. The kit will be a Garrett t3 60 trim ball bearing with a deltagate and spearco intercooler. I was also planning on getting the JWT 96 240sx ecu upgrade and 370cc injectors.
My questions are: Will the stock MAFS work and is there a special spot that it needs to be placed? Will the stock fuel pump work at 5psi? Also, does anyone know about replacing the oxygen sensors with the 96 ones? Please reply.

I think the stock MAF will still work. It will be in front of the turbo. If it was after the turbo(the pressurize side) there might be problems when the throttle closes and the MAF might get a wrong signal. If your car is realitively new, the stock pump should be OK. But if it's old, you might think about upgrading it. Don't know about the O2 sensor though. Why do you want to switch it? Do you read SCC? They turbocharged a late model 240SX recently. You might want to check their back issues for more info. If you don't have access to them, I could look through my old issues and get you some details about the car. Think they had it put in by XS Engineering. Hope I answered some of your questions.

Tim,
I have a '97 S14 240SX with the F-Max Turbo kit. I'm sure I can shed some light on some of your questions.
One thing though, I would stay away from the Delta gate. There are some reliability issues that can risk blowing up your engine. The valve seat material will wear out and cause leakage problems. I would suggest looking into a HKS or Greddy wastegate.
It also sounds like you are going to use RevHard's cast iron turbo manifold. If you are and are going to mount it w/ the turbo uptop, be aware of the port mismatch situation. Even though the bolt pattern is changeable, the port will be misaligned when it's w/ the turbo up top.
I'm also using a '96 ECU w/ the '96 2nd O2 sensor. I'm using the Mustang Cobra MAFS plus the MSD 50lb/hr injectors plus the MSD fuel rail. I did not upgrade the fuel pump.

Hey S14, that mismatch with the ports, is that for all KA24DE motors? I have a 1991 240SX and I bought that Rev Hard manifold a little while ago. The turbo I got will only fit up top. Will that be a problem?

So you have the 2nd oxygen sensor? You mean the rear one right? Are you using the stock front one?

Yes and no. A fellow turbo 240SX in Az has the RevHard manifold w/ the mismatched port. His ran okay, but interms of max performance extraction, you will have to open up the ports of the manifold so it will match.
Easiest way to see the problem is to take the gasket and put it on either way. You will see how much off it is...
