Nissan's "Stock Incentive Program." Will it**work?

Dot.coms are doing it, why shouldn't Nissan? Well Nissan Motor Co. in a recent press release announced a "Stock Incentive Program" that will reward Nissan executives with the Japanese version of stock options. Nissan executives will be rewarded depending on their performance relative to their contribution to the Nissan Revival Program. Executives have the right to resell the stocks only after March 2003, ensuring Nissan executives will be thinking long term growth.

I think it's a good way to motivate them to performe, if Nissan stock goes up, they are gonna make some money. BTW Nissan stocks are pretty cheap to buy right now.

i agree, i think it could be good motivation for nissan's execs--who probably need some motivating in these hard times
