Ok here's the deal. I was looking into leasing NHIS (Louden, NH) for a day. It would cost $5,000 for the day plus I'd have to insure them for $5,000,000 and the only dates available when I called were October 22nd,23rd, and 24th. So it looks like thats not gonna happen.
Drifting Ricer (who was going to help make NHIS happen) and I had been noticing a lack of activity in New England. To remedy this we decided to start a new 240 club called 240SX-ONE (240SX Owners of New England). We will be focusing on providing cheap track time for all members.
Right now we are in the process of getting the site made, and figuring out what our summer schedule will be. As it stands for this season since we're so low on cash we'll be doing a lot of auto X, and going through other sources for instructor lead track time. It's not the cheapest route but we can't afford to lease a track ourselves yet.
Mods, if FA is still interested in creating a FA club we are willing to be the New England branch. The easiest way to manage such a large group of people would be through local branches.
If North East people are interested we can expand our coverage are to include all of the North East. We will be going to Watkins Glen, and Possibly a new track in PA so a fair amount of or track time will actually take place outside of New England.
Also if anyone is interested in rally I could talk to some rally groups about doing dirt events such as rally cross and the Maine Forest Rally. I would like to cover rally too but I don't want to use my 240! images/icons/grin.gif
This post is getting long so I'll stop it here. Anyone interested please reply.

I'm in MD but a NE branch would be great there are really no drift/240/nissan groups around here... i know of a few tracks, ie. Summit Point in WV, VIR, and LOTSA autoX takes place around here...maybe even start a few of our own.

The place Devens Ayer, mass
DO NOT GO TO THE OLD ENTRANCE!!!!
Directions: From either direction from I-495 take exit 30 (2A/110) and turn toward Ayer (that's to the NW). From either direction, you will make a left turn onto Rt 2A. Follow 2A all that way to the Devens airport entrance. You will go through a rotary about 5 1/2 mi from I-495. Continue on 2A which is the second exit in the rotary (straight across, just past the MacDonalds).
You will then go about 1 mile and be in the center of downtown Ayer. 2A will take a right turn just past the main business district; there will be a Mobil station on your left at that corner.
NEW PART
Travel about 1/2 a mile. A couple of hundred yards after Dunkin Donuts, take a left onto Bishop Road. After the cemetery (on left) go through the first gate. Two hundred yards after this, bear right at the 'Y'. This will take you into the site. DO NOT GO TO THE OLD ENTRANCE!!!!
We will be handing out a newsletter explaining our goals and future plans.
I hope to see everyone interested in joining. If you have any questions ask me jaytamx5@hotmail.com or SR20VET@hotmail.com .
If you want to know more about auto x check out this link below

There you have it guys the first official word on our first official meet. images/icons/wink.gif
Ok I want EVERYONE that can make it out there to come. This will be the official lauch of the club and it'd be nice to have a good turn out. Race if you want if not at least come and hang out and watch. I may or may not be racing depending on what condition my car is in at the time.
As Drifting Ricer mentioned we will be handing out a newsletter. Also if money permits I'll be making up some t-shirts with the club logo on them. We've just begun work on the website so for now all of our meets will be posted on the forums and sent via email. If you are interested in joining or have any suggestions/requests please send one of us an email.

Hmm....I was hoping to get more replys than this!
This is a serious club guys...not a bunch a punk ass ricers crusing in circles with our sterios cranked. We will be doing what we can to provide cheap track time. Our current list of available tracks is New Hampshire Intl. Speedway (it's the road course not the oval), Lime Rock Park, Watkins Glen, and possibly a new track in PA called Beaver Run.
This yeah we are going through two local groups that offer instructor lead track days. This may not be the best choice for those of you who are more experienced, but it's a great opportunity for the rest of us to learn. The prices aren't bad at all ~$125 - $250 per car depending on how many people we have, what track, and who we go through. Another plus is that you don't need any form of racing license, only a valid drivers license. As I hinted at a second ago we can sometimes also work out a discount price if we have a group of people going.
To top it all off we are going to be focusing on auto x too. While it can't compare to a track, auto x is a great way to practice your skills. It's cheap too. I doubt anyone of us will be able to go to even half the track events that will be available to us, but at $25 a race we can all afford auto x.
Finally there will of course be the standard meets we'll be racing at F1 Boston and Kart Track, and we might try to plan a few BBQs.

My suggestion:
Please, PLEASE get things rolling by utilizing the Northeast list.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/240SXNE
Email the list owner to coordinate things.
This list has been up for quite some time, but no one bothers to use it to its full potential.
As for track events, good luck. Most tracks require at least a $1000 to 50% deposit paid at least 6 months in advance. Whomever that wants to put on the event would have a lot of money tied up in something that doesn't guarantee a return...

We will send an email or two using the list, but the majority of our current members are on FA, and Zilvia, not the list. I have used it before though and it is a nice way to contact people the problem is like you said no one really uses it to its potential. I had used it to see who was interested in a track day at NHIS but I only got 3 replys in 1 month.
As far as track days I realize that we will not be able to lease the tracks ourselves this season. That is why we're going through COMSCC, and SCDA this year. They already have the tracks leased. All we have to do is pre-register and give them the track fee.
You seem like you don't like us posting meet info in this forum. As soon as the meets forum is live I'll request that this thread gets moved.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial[/img]Just to let everyone know this is a non-profit club. Neither Drifing Ricer or I will be making any money on this. Chances are we'll both be dumping some of our own money into it to keep everything running as smootly as possible, and to try and keep all our members happy. Yes a significant amount of money will flow through us, but rest assured that there will be no mark up in prices. If I can get the t-shirts made before the meet they will be FREE to anyone signing up that day.
Again if anyone has any comments or questions feel free to email me at SR20VET@hotmail.com
Oh and thank you for your input Alex. SoCal240SX seems to be a very successful club I may be asking you for a few pointers down the road. images/icons/wink.gif

Think of the number of participants in your area. Think of the number of events.
I highly suggest you use the Yahoo!Groups list not because I wish you guys to take it off the forums (in fact, post here all you want as long as it is related to 240SX), but because that list has tons of features that you can use. Polls, 30mb of webspace for pictures/files, a listing of all the members, blah blah.
Aside from the spam advertisement Yahoo tries to put up on the website, the list has never failed us SoCal guys in almost 3 years of use.
Post here all you want, I'm just telling you that using a local email list would make things much easier.

Tracks require a huge deposit up front, often half a year in advance. If you want to shell out that sort of money and not be guaranteed that you'll get your money back, go ahead.
Just remember that track rentals get real expensive real fast. Does your cost include corner workers? Emergency tow? EMT? Etc...
And "returns" does not mean "profit". I should have used the phrase "getting your money back".
And SoCal is not an official club. There isn't a consensus of what people would want out of a club, especially one that would involve money. Hell, there are tons of track events, but a small percentage (less than 5%) of SoCal LM's ever go to them. For SoCal240SX to throw a track event would basically be 5 240SX's on the track, and 50 other cars that we'd have to invite from other groups just so we can cover cost.
I've tried many times, people here just don't care much for track events. You can only open the door for them; they have to walk through themselves.

I just want to publically apologize for misreading Alex's post. I just looked into the poll, web space, etc. that he mentioned. They look to be some very useful tools.
