OK. So I've been slowly rounding up people for another meet. June 15th, same location (as the Zilvia.net meet)

Allison Park Englewood Cliffs NJ. (On the water facing the city)

Directions are:
From Palisades Interstate Parkway (North or Southbound): Take Exit 1, Palisade Ave. Turn left. Enter Park and follow road down to river.

If coming from NY just cross GW bridge and follow signs for Palisades Parkway North. follow above.

Hopefully we'll have even more cars there (than the zilvia.net meet), and I'll be sure to take lots of pictures with my Digicam. Maybe I'll have my DV cam by then. Time is undecided.

Also I don't know if we can BBQ there or not, but I definitely want to!

OK guys... sorry it took me so long to get back to all of you... but I've been very busy with graduating college and unpacking/packing, looking for apartments, etc.

SO! Here's the deal. I'm trying to have this get-together at Allison Park in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. It's a really easy place to get to (I'll find out for sure mid next week) because it's the first exit off the Palisades Parkway.

Supposedly there was a meet there back in May and there were a lot of cars and it apparently was pretty good.

If people have CB radios and FRS radios and whatnot, Bear Mountain isn't too far away and is a very nice drive. Here's a picture of the Bear Mountain Touge (toh-gay, japanese for mountain pass):

For those of you coming from east of the hudson, cross it and come down the palisades parkway.

For those coming from northeast areas like CT and such, it might be easiest to take 95 all the way to George Washington Bridge and then go up Palisades.

For those coming from West, it might be easiest to take something like 78 or such to Jersey Turnpike or Garden State Parkway and then go up, but it depends on where west you are.

Tell your friends, tell your mother, tell your neighbors... All 240SX are invited (preferably) but any car is welcome! If I can get over there this week I'll take pictures of the park and parking area.

If you have questions feel free to email me. I'll also be at the NASA Autocross at the Meadowlands this sunday. Come check me and my (nonexistant?) drifting skills out!

Well, it looks like people on the NICO (NissanInfinityClub) boards are talking 10AM meeting time for a picnic/bbq kind of thing. This is fine with me, but I figure people will be around for hours just chillin' and talkin cars and going for rides.

Here are the directions again:

>Allison Park Englewood Cliffs NJ. (On the water facing the city)
>
>Directions are:
>From Palisades Interstate Parkway (North or Southbound): Take Exit 1,
>Palisade Ave. Turn left. Enter Park and follow road down to river.
>
>If coming from NY just cross GW bridge and follow signs for Palisades
>Parkway North. follow above.

If you're coming from the south, it looks like exit 18E on the Jersey TPKE might be for Pallisades Parkway.

Now, some notes:

A) DO NOT BRING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. If I see beers, I'm going to kill you. Really. The last thing we need is to get in trouble for having beer and cars mixed together.
B) Bring at least ONE big black garbage bag for yourself. You are going to make a mess if we are picnicing. I want this park to be as clean when we leave as it is when we enter. I am serious about this. If we want to do this regularly, we have to respect the park.
C) DO NOT ACT LIKE A JERK IN YOUR CAR. This is a park. It is a public place. It's not an autocross, a racetrack, a drag strip, or a demolition derby, or whatever. Be respectful of the fact that there may be men, women, and children who all know nothing about cars and have no desire to get run over or be hit by a vehicle or anything like that. If you want to drive, wait until you are away from the park, and then you can "let loose" a bit. I don't want to hear of a single accident, and I'd prefer if no one got any tickets. If you guys want a "spirited" drive... take the Palisades north to the end and go across bear mountain bridge. Hang a right over the bridge, and that road is nice.
D) If you want to take part in the picnic, please bring something to eat or drink. Please let me know what you intend to bring, I will put up a webpage of what people are bringing. This doesn't have to get fancy. I do not know if there are grilles there, so I will be bringing a one-time use hibachi grille. If you want, bring luncheon meat, bring your own burgers/dogs/grille, whatever. Just be nice about sharing, don't make a mess, and don't be a jerk in your car. Did I mention not making a mess or being a jerk? Oh, leave the alcohol at home, too.

Now I'm not saying that I have the ability to "enforce" any of these rules... but if people get out of hand, I won't have any qualms about finding someone to escort you out of the park -- it is a state park, and it probably isn't too hard. I'm not trying to be a meanie, but we have to respect our surroundings and our neighbors if we want this to be nice and fun and successful. SoCal group does a meet like this every year, and they have a great time, and it's a cool thing. Hoepfully this will turn into something similar.

Peace,
Erik J

I liked the meet. I say we do the Bear Mountain run next time. I hope my tranny/suspension will be done by then.

Here are some fuzzy pictures from the meet:
