The president of Nissan USA Jerry Benefield is to retire, effective April 1, 2000. He will be succeeded by Dan Gaudette, senior vice president of operations of U.S. manufacturing.

Nissan fired alot of guys last spring when the U.S sales were slumping big time. Whoever is in charge now should continue Nissan North America's hot streak. If they don't perform, then get rid of them!!!!

Unfortunately this press release is a bit misleading. Jerry Benefield is president of Nissan Motors Manufacturing Corp. not Nissan USA/North America. NMMC is the arm of Nissan that manufactures the Altima, Frontier, and Xterra. It will be rolled into Nissan North America on April 1st.
