I'd like to become a dimer...but dont know about a few things...

Well here's my first question, if I was to get a 71 Datsun 2 door automatic and swap in a KA24DE in it....how would I go about the wiring? and will I be able to go manual?

What I meant was that if I had an entire 91 240Sx would I be able to totally convert it to a KA24DE powered Manual? makes sense that the cltuh master and other parts would go with the 240's engine...right?

Depending on your pocket book, you can purchase the repair manuals from any Nissan dealer. It will have the wiring diagrams needed for your swap.

Also check out the guys at the Dimequarterly, they have some good articles on the KA swap.

Hope that helps,
Nelson

As far as the pedal assy, Look for a manual 510 and get the pedals (brake and clutch) and the clutch master with the metal lines for the slave. They should all bolt in. The slave cylinder off the Ka is compatible with the dime master.

Good luck,

u think that if i had a full 91 240SX to eat off of...would i be able to make the Datsun a manual? becuz i would be using the 240Sx transmission and all...

Basically, you can. tThe only problem is the pedals and the clutch master. The rest will come from the 240sx.

BTW, You'll also need to find an external fuel pump or modify your fuel tank to accept the 240sx fuel pump. Then you also need to modify the driveshaft. one side will be the 240sx side and the other side for the r160.

I don't know if you've seen some of the pics of my project, but have a look:

The clutch master....what is that....kinda new....i dont really remember anymore but i think its the actual thing that holds the hydraulic fluid and all...but then why would I need one from a 510 if this is going from the 240 to the 240? U think this might not be a good idea?

The master is the part that holds the fluid in the engine compartment. And yes it will be a good idea. But if you find that the 240sx master would fit into the 510 with no mods, then more power to you.

Check out Experimental Engineering. He makes kits for the swap. I think he is in Seatle somewhere.

If you are patient and not have enough money, there are some sites that provide the info to do the swap and modify the engine cross member as well as the trans cross member.

I haven't done this swap personally. I do know that it has been done.

Have fun,
Nelson
