How many people would like to see Holden and Opel models sold in North America under the Holden badge to replace Pontiac? I think it's time for Pontiac to bite the dust out of here. If this brand sold autos here I think GM America sells would raise the roof. What do you think? If you need to be persuaded Holden (http://www.holden.com.au/app/serve?page=vehicleShowRoomEntry&req=flash) and Adam Opel (http://www.opel.com/corporate/1/13.html)

Holden North America
Corsa- Subcompact
Astra- Compact
Vectra- Middle class
Monaro- Premium coupe
Commodore- Large
Zafira- MPV
Cruze- Mini SUV
Speedster- Roadster

Why oh why is pontiac still around!! I bought a pontiac sunfire back in 1995 instead of a honda civic for my son, and today it is worth nothing, especially compared to a 1995 civic. Pontiac needs to be dropped as a brand, and replaced with holden models under the holden name. I also like the names of the holden cars such as the vectra, astra, commodore, as apposed to sunfire, grand am, bonneville. But, the holden cars would have to been changed for americans. Having seen them in australia, there interiors are very plain and cheap. This is so they can be bought at affordable cost's, because the price of cars in australia is ridicious. But i think for sure holden should re-place pontiac. Even this monaro they are bringing over as the pontiac GTO, i still think they will ruin it by "pontiac'izing" it, with the weird grill, and weird buttons inside.

i think a better idea would be for the domestic brands to stop screwing around and actually produce a really nice reliable car for once. bringing other brands over is just a patch and the importing costs are just going to jack up prices. it can't be that hard to design a nice car with a nice interior with a smooth engine.

I sent a proposal directly to Robert Lutz regarding bringing Holden here to America. He didn.t replay back. So I'll keep writing until he replies. Want to also send a petition, but I don't know how set them up online and get people to sign them.

just curious, but how much do you think a 95 economy car
should be worth? Eight years is getting kinda old, I doubt
many cars are worth a whole lot back from 95. http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif

the 1995 sunfire i bought for my son has 102,000 KMS on it, i would be lucky to sell it for around $5,000. If i had a 1995 honda civic coupe with that milege, i would be lucky to sell it for around $10,000. and that is no exaderation. Its amazing how good american car companys designs look at first, then 10 years down the road, they look like crap compared to import cars.

not in GM's or Pontiacs defense, but isn't the Pontiac division selling the most cars? Grand Am being #1 company wide? From what I remember, Pontiac is the most successful (=profitable) division http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif for GM right now. So sad.

I have always wanted to see Holden and Opel sold over here.

Certian Pontiacs are alright. Just the plastic cladding makes um look ugly.

It is a no-brainer to bring the Monaro.

GM's previous phylosophy was "We build great cars, we just market them wrong!"
WTF?!
They tried to sell each individual cars with a particular market in mind, rather than market the division.

That was the brand management f-ck up.

It didn't take Lutz to figure that out. But you had to fire the top guy who didn't figure that out and hire the new guy who would.

Personally, even being a GM fan, I seriously think ABS and side air bags as options is BIG screwup.
Yea, you save couple hundred dollars in production, just you lose a greater amount by not selling cars period.

Gonna check out XXX tomorrow. That GTO is pretty nucking futs for a spy car.
