Talk about close! I left work yesterday and was taking a back way home, a fairly deserted country road for some reason marked 35MPH. Well, I got it in my head to check my 50-70 performance so at 50 in 5th I drop to 3rd and hammer it. BAM, I'm at almost 75 and it's time to shift to 4th... What the h*ll! I shift and hammer it again. Now I'm around 95 and 5th is screaming my name so I hit it and head into the triple digits. The road has minor hills and curves so I had the opputunity to see the light unit on top of the trooper car just before his radar gun hit me. Luckily I was revved and reacted fast... and have anti lock brakes. When he was in range to clock me I was already down in the 50's and just got a dirty look as he went by. Then I just had to go home and clean out the shorts thinking what that fine would've been. I really need to find a track that has open runs on weekends! http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif

well here in Montreal, the Formula One track (Circuit Gilles Villeneuve) is open all the time. The posted speed limit is 35MPH but it's never enforced. there is a curfew on the track at 12AM and until 10 PM there are people on and around the grounds. But from 10 to 12, deserted, not many people know about this. So on a few occasions i have taken my Altima and Maxima for a few runs. Oh jeez its fun! taking those chicanes and the hairpin, then a straightaway. The only bad thing is it's at night and you need good hibeams...

well not all the time, but true...
by the way the track does not have lighting, so it's pitch dark, even with good headlights it's sometimes hard to see a concrete wall approaching fast http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif
