lets say you got a used Honda Civic SI and then you got your turbo, headers, intake, exhaust, performance tires, and such(no japenese stickers or 8-foot spoilers), How fast do you think a car this light weight and with that much power would perform in the 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Not that I would do this, but i think its kinda cool that people can get civics to go that fast.... also, how much would it cost. THNX

Mid 14s, civics arent 'light'
Not worth the cost.
Prepare to be flamed.

lets say you dropped a turbo in a 240sx then.....how fast would that be and what would it cost?

You should ask those boost junkies in the Advanced 240sx forums. But for under $8000, you can have a pretty damn fast straight-line 240sx, if youre really into dragging 1/4 mile and stuff. Im guessing under 14 secs.

Older EG (I believe) Civics are pretty light. EK Civics aren't that light.

Only civic id bother messing with is a hatch. Just drop an LSVtec or CRVtec in there and enjoy.

without an exhaust manifold and your turbo sitting inside with your header and intake the car will not be much faster then stock. high 14's at best for the dohc and high 15's at best with the sohc.

now if your gonna use the turbo your gonna have to take the intake and header off and then get an exhaust mani, and custom pipings http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif

I like the EG hatchbacks....

If I had that car I would drop a B18C1 or H22A4 and hook up that car.....but very tastefully.

Have you tired asking the Si nuts (j/k) at Club Si (http://www.clubsi.com) ?

hummm... my other post did not come through... oh well

lsvtec b20/vtec is nice for a NA set up but a waste of time/money for a turbo set up. vtec will not be a major factor or advantage with force induction imo.

I have a 99 si equiped with SRP pistons and Crower Rods t03/04 turbo and standalone ecu. I ran 13.3 @ 108 mph without the ECU, and have yet to test and tuned with the standalone. Parts much more avaliable, and slightly cheaper for Hondas. Although, the popularity of the "Silvia" is growing, more people will raise the demand, therefore decreasing the price for Silvia parts.

What standalone system do you have?

I currently have the Hondata 2B system with 550 injectors. It pulls real nice, but I long for the power of the 240sx. I'm not quite sure if I want to get rid or it keep it.

in case you noticed you are most definitely on the wrong board...but there are some people here that can't be objective about other car mfgrs...hence the post before me

a hb with a swap is fast and b/c of its light weight is very easy to drive fast

ef civic hbs (1988-1991) run up to 2100lbs
eg civic hbs (1992-1995) run up to 2400lbs
ek civics (1995-2000) run up to 2500lbs

if you go with a crx, and turbocharged it, you could easily be in the 13s, and if you built it up anything is possible. crxs ranged from 1800-2000 pounds
