It's almost here...the new Q45 to deubt on April 19th, 2000. Here's what we know...the car was codenamed NE for "No Excuses." The car will be based on the Japanese front engine rear wheel drive Cedric/Gloria platform. It may utilize a new lighter V-8 engine series based on the VQ series used in the Maxima/I30.

Will the new Q have what it takes?

When you say debut does that mean to the press or just the public. The dealers have known what the car looks like since last year and nobody ever resolved that TV shot clients in service claimed to see.Do we have to wait til the 19th to see the car.Someone out there has a shot so fess up and show it.

April 19th is the premiere at the New York Auto Show. We're working on getting a picture before that. We found a pic for the Frontier one day before the official release.

They are unveiling it this April and putting it on sale a year later? What kind of strategy is that? I had thought that it would go on sale sometime this year...

Is that the back of the NE car on the homepage of this website.Because if it is we are in trouble .Also the Public wants a bigger......bigger Q45.If the new car is the same size as the present,I:E: no room in the back , the Q is dead. The present car 2000 model has no trunk room, no rear seat room and every single car shimmies at 62 miles an hour. The Cima chassis is no match for the LS400 and the upcoming LS430 will slaughter the Q if it is another wannabe car.

Still hunting around for a Q45 pic...that's a Cedric rear - what the Q45 will be roughly based on. I don't think the new Q will look like it - that's why I kept most of the pic cut off and faded out.

I think if the new I30 and QX4 are any indication of the improvements of the upcoming Q car, I feel confident it will be a very competitive car. Lets cross our fingers.

I'm around people who'll buy these things not just review em. Here in good ole boy Country the new Cadillac Deville is not well recieved.Conversely for these big car buyers if they get hoodwinked on the Q45 again it will be the Edsel intro all over. The Cedric and Gloria are too Pontiac Bonneville for this crowd at least.Plus you know as well as I do a picture of the new Q does exist because people I have talked swore they saw a photo on a morning news show.

If this is so. What will the 2001 model look like will it just be an update or is it going to be a carry over of the 2000.

And what the the hell is Nissan up to now unvieling a car in the year 2000 and selling it like a year later. I'd get tired of looking at it by then! There better be a good reason for this!

i don't know a whole lot about the Q45 but didn't the original have a 4 wheel steering system? many people compared the original to the BMW 7 series saying that it was a car ahead of its time--then they were disappointed by the current generation. nissan needs to go back to its original idea behind the first Q--engineering it to be a large sports sedan, but this time with some style

I think for 1-2 years, the Q45t (touring) had SuperHICAS but was later dropped when the Japanese economy headed south.
