View Full Version : Murano towing info?

My local sales guy does not have the info on what Murano will tow but is guessing at 5K lb. To me that sounds high. Though I figure it should be at least as much as Altima, being the same platform and all. But he said there is no info on Altima. Anybody know or want to guess?

The Pathfinder, with virtually the same engine, and probably pretty darn close weight, can tow 5000lbs.

The standard towing capacity is 3500lbs. I have every detail on this new vehicle if you need more.

It makes sense that it is less than the pathfinder. People don't realize that towing capacity deals with A LOT more than just the engine's power. The structure and design of the frame have just as much to do with it. You can have the biggest turbo diesel in the world, but what good is it if your tow hitch snaps off, or you bend your frame. Seeing that the Murano rides on the Altima's FF-L platform, I wasn't expecting it to be able to tow too much. Most people who buy this won't tow anything anyways.
