for once i am impressed with a new american car. i think ford did a good job of improving upon an already stylish car, especially the interior. new power this year also, 232 hp v6 and a 280hp v8.

One of the only models in the whole Ford-Mercury-Lincoln lineup even worth talking about. What would another example be? The Navigator, aka luxo-Expedition?

The taillights now look way too much like those of a '95 Honda Accord. Other than that, the LS looks better.

That's it, the Accord tail lights! I've been looking at the back of that car all day, trying to figure out what was bothering me about it. I had my aunt's 2000 LS V8 for a few weeks, that car definitely needed more power, I'm glad to hear it's getting it. Anyone who has driven one will tell you, they're some fine riding cars.

Yeah, the LS is like the only american sedan I actually respect. They did a great job with it. Still wouldn't buy one, but at least it's not a bad car.

Of course, you saying you like it and wouldn't buy one nets Ford $0 and you saying it's crap and you'd never buy it... nets Ford the same revenue from the non-existent sale! http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/smirk.gif

CTS .. it IS "THE THING" ... http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/shocked.gif <shudder> http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/crazy.gif

Ive heard that the LS V-8 is reaching near 50,000 dollars
now, maybe thats wrong, but if its true, the LS isnt worth
near that. My mom still has her 01 LS, and it still goes
into the shop more than she drives it. Other than that
it is a nice car and has a nice sporting ride.

I was driving to the mall Saturday in my 02 Maxima, and I
see this black CTS comming behind me. It looked so awesome
from the front, and then it went slowly past me. To me
its a awesome looking car, especially in black. It was
much better looking than the LS. http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif

I'm in a "giving mood" this holiday season and of course I want to include the GM club too on my list of recipients. But I don't have a GM Card, so, I think I have the next-best option available...
Which loony bin, er, Cadillac dealer should I write the check for? $0.02, signed "M Type X". Memo: For purchase of one hot CTS, baby! Joe's been reeeeeeally good this year. And the whole family will be impressed he "moved up to a Cadillac"!

I wouldnt call it moving up, I still think that Maxima
is a better car. Thats it, make fun just because I like
the CTS better. http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/mad.gif I must not be the only one that
likes them, there are alot of them selling around here. http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif

If you really need a Caddy, Cateras are plentiful. http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/ooo.gif

*an unidentified moving box(errr, object) appears out of no where.*

"it's like the aztec, that sells ..."

*famous annoying Led Zeppelin noise(errr, music) playing as it drives away*

This car' s exterior styling has, essentially, remained unchanged from its debut model, which was a long time ago. The style is outdated. Lincoln needs to redesign it. I am amazed at how lazy they've been with this thing.

Lincoln-Mercury = Ford = definition of laziness in automobile industry. Cars almost all on platforms that existed in the days of the Ancien Regime. Which ancien regime? Why do you have to ask?! Pick one! http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/mad.gif Hmm... maybe the Carter Administration... http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif

GM should merge Pontiac and Cadillac so you can buy the Aztek and the CTS at the same dealer! "Uglymobile" would be a great name, I'm sure the GM faithful would go for it because if it's GM, it's gotta be good.

The LS has only been around for about 3 years....many of the fastest model turn overs are on a 4 year cycle....Lincoln has hardly been lazy.

I personally don't like it, except for the interior and the fact it shares the same platform with the Jaguar S-Type...which I know Ford ownes. The only Ford sedan in the US I actually like it the Ford Contour SVT. I can't wait until they bring the euro Ford Mondeo over here.

my bad. it just seems like it has been around for a long time. it debuted in 1999 as a 2000 model. for some reason, i thought it had come out in the mid-90s. http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif

hahaha mid-90s hahaha

Do you know what Lincoln was selling in the mid 90s?
Buncha yuck and the Mark VIII (notice
separation of luxury coupe and the rest of the lineup
in my mind).
