WINNERS:

Honda sales set a new November record of 98,075 vehicles, an increase of 4.6 percent from last year. A 35.6 percent increase in light trucks sales to 37,716 paced the gain. Year-to-date Honda sales of 1,147,098 are running 2.7 percent ahead of last year's record setting pace. Light truck sales are up 33 percent to 136,943 for the year.

Audi reported sales of 7,138 for the month of November, a 14.2 percent increase over November 2001's sales of 6,253.

Mercedes-Benz reported its all-time best November on record with sales of 19,374 new vehicles, an increase of 7.5 percent over last November's record of 18,014.

BMW Group (BMW and MINI brands combined) recorded its third best month ever, with November sales of 23,579 vehicles, an increase of 30.2 percent over the same month last year. (Record U.S. sales of 23,994 vehicles were recorded in April of this year followed by sales of 23,624 vehicles in May.) The company also recorded impressive sales gains for the first eleven months of 2002, reporting 230,370 vehicles, an 18.3 percent increase over the 194,713 reported in the same period a year ago.

Hyundai announced November sales of 26,042 units, increasing the year-to-date total to 349,675 which surpasses the all-time HMA annual sales record of 346,235 units established last year. Through November Hyundai's sales are up 8.7 percent over last year.

Kia sales increased by 10.7 percent during the month of November. The company sold 18,741 vehicles in November, increasing Kia's year-to-date sales to 222,720, a 7.9 percent overall increase from the same period last year.



Losers:
General Motors said that its U.S. vehicle sales dropped 18 percent in November.

Ford sold or leased 261,705 cars and trucks from Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Jaguar, Volvo, and Land Rover dealers in November, down 16.6 percent compared with last November's strong sales.

Toyota reported November sales of 136,259 vehicles, down 5.2 percent from last year's record November.

Nissan reported November total sales of 57,512 units for its Nissan and Infiniti divisions, a 1.6 percent decrease versus November of last year.

Acura sales for November totaled 12,031, down from the same period last year.

Volkswagen said its sales in the United States fell 17.3 percent in November.

Porsche said it had sold 1,676 of its Boxster and 911 models in the United States and Canada in November. Demand for the high-margin 911 was stable, while Boxster sales fell 21 percent.
