Heard a rumor from a guy who knows a sales man at Miller Infiniti. He said FX 45 will be there today and tomorrow.
I'm working can anyone go and get pics?

Just got back from checking out the FX45 at Miller Infiniti. Sorry, I didn't get any pics of it though. There's not really anything new to see that hasn't already been posted here. I do think it looks better in person, though.

I have to say I really like the look of it. It was the Liquid Copper color and the interior was Brick (not sure I'm loving the Brick though). It does have a very aggressive stance and it had the 20" wheels with (I believe) the performance, sport and tech package. DVD in the back seat, etc.

The interior room is very good in the front, being 6'3" I usually have a problem with even some SUVs, but this was very comfortable. There's not a ton of room in the back seat, but since I don't intend on being back there, that's not a big problem for me. http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

The interior seemed very luxorious to me. I didn't notice any of the quality/cheapness issues that others have mentioned. But I'd have to look at it again to be sure.

They (obviously) weren't letting anyone drive it, so I can't comment on that.

The dealer was taking deposits for them, said they should be receiving them late January-ish. Not any new info as far as pricing or options. What I saw from the dealer matches what dfw has already posted here.

Anyway, those are my observations. I loved it so it's number 1 on my list.

Thanks for your insight on the interior, being that you have seen it in person. The reason you didn't see any "cheapness/quality issues" that people mentioned is because NONE OF THEM HAVE SEEN IT IN PERSON. They are just speculating over pictures which is quite absurd.

I went there last night. Impressions:

Very sexy exterior. It appears that the stance of the car is not as wide as the concept, but still looks very aggressive.

The interior is clean and business-like, which is fine with me. The gauges are very classy. The dash is made of good quality soft-touch plastic, the leather is soft and supple, and the switch-gear felt quality. Hard plastics abound in the lower portions of the cabin however.

The center console is real brushed aluminum. No questions about it.

The biggest problem I have is with the back area, which feels rather spartan. The folddown arm-rest doubling as the middle seat looks and feels filmsy. (You can already tell from the photos posted in this forum.) The car was equipped with the DVD entertainment system, with the headunit containing the buttons and the DVD slot plugged into a barren rectangular cutout behind the center console, looking rather like a cheap aftermarket add-on.

I agree with the previous poster that the interior feels rather smallish for such a big car. The backdoors open at 90 degrees, which is good because the entrance is so damned tight.

I didn't get to see the often-heard-about remote, but the car was equipped with it. As you approach the car armed with this thing in your pocket you simply press a tiny rubbery button on the door handle to open the door and turn the ignition switch (with or without the key inserted) to start the engine. Very cool.

I was also shown the rear-view camera the car was equipped with. Unlike the one on the Q45, this version is very small and hidden beneath the lift gate handle. In fact you can't even see it from a standing position. I guess it will be less likely to attract thieves.

The salesman also showed me the bi-xenon headlights; it's extremely bright when the high beam is switched on. The headlights can be aimed with an intuitive vertical jog dial right beside the steering wheel--roll up to raise the level, roll down to lower.

Verdict: a worthy vehicle whose looks alone will attract many buyers. I just hope the back area has more features to justify the luxury status.

I was at Miller myself today and loved the Fx45. The car looks awesome in person. It's actually smaller then I thought it would be. I just bought a new Murano and the Murano is much larger on the inside, including cargo space. The interior of the Fx is beautiful. I actually liked the brick/black combination. The leather seats have a pattern on them, sorta like a snake skin. I didn't think the interior looked cheap at all. My only complaint was some of the plastics used, looked alittle cheap. A lot of the controls and cupholders for instance reminded me of my Murano. The car is classy and very sporty looking. I am 6'0 and long waisted. I had plenty of leg and headroom in the vehicle. I loved the interior. Yes, the rear seat is alittle tight but not bad. The cargo area is smallish but workable. I think this car is going to be a huge hit. I had already ordered mine a few months back. From what I heard, all dealers will have at least one by Jan 6th and the release date is Jan 15. Knowing how Nissan is, cars are always releases earlier. I am looking forward to getting this Fx......It definitely sits much lower then a SUV. It was much lower then my Murano. It's actually more carlike then a SUV. I do believe they have a huge hit here. It certainly will compete with any SUV out there that is High End. I am looking forward to next month.....

Sorry no. But it really wasn't anything that people haven't seen before.

I am glad to hear more reviews of the interior from people who have actually seen it in person. The reviews are more what I was expecting.

As far as the "cheapish" plastics used in some parts of the interior, well.. it's nothing I wouldn't expect. Heck, my 2002 Audi S4 has "cheap" plastic on the bottom half of the doors and in some other parts, yet everyone raves about Audi interiors. 90% of cars out (yes, luxury cars too) use forms of plastic all over the place. I think people are making a big deal of nothing much. And really, all because of the Altima (if you think about it). Now people are questioning every car that Nissan/Infiniti comes out with. Some rightly so, others for no good reason other than to jump on the bandwagon of critcism.

Any mention of the hsp on the Fx from the dealer? On the last update by Infiniti, it said 330 on the 45 and 240 on the 35. I can't hardly believe that because the Muran has around 240.Apreciate any pics that anyone can post from miller on the 45.What happend to the room on the inside of the FX, it must have gone somewhere? I thought the Murano had alot of room in the front seat but maybe you lose it in the FX because of the engine.

Could you tell me if the Brick color seats are orange or are they more of a saddle color, somehting like the seats in the Audi TT. I hear they are anywhere from blaze orange to brow. The pics I have seen make them look like a burnt orange. What was the color of the door panels and carpet on the floor.

Burnt orange is apt enough. The carpet and door panels are of the same color.

I found that the front seats had plenty of room. I had alot of leg-room and head-room in the drivers seat. The back seat was comfortable, but there's not as much leg room for a taller person, but the back seats are tilt adjustable which is very good.

Someone asked about HP, I don't recall the exact numbers but I thought the salesperson said 340, 35 may have been 280.

Anyway, my 2 cents

does it tilt manually or automatically like the x5?

i am pretty sure that the FX35 is set at 280HP...these are not real numbers, just speculations, so dont start getting on my case http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif ......as for MAXIMA, i have heard either 270 or 275 which is fine by me! (i actually heard this from a non-reliable, but uplifting source) http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif

There was a lever on the seat to tilt the rear seat.

I am sure this was a pre-production model just making the rounds at dealerships, like the coupe did. And the coupe we saw did not have the production console at all, so what you saw could change.
