I was wondering if anyone could help me please. Its a bit embarrassing really but I left my nissan figaro in the garage for a couple of months and the battery has gone flat. The problem is without the electrics working the bonnet wont open, in fact nothing but the doors will open. When it does open it opens from near the window. I have searched everywhere for a manual opening device. I have called in mechanics. No-one can get the bonnet open. As there were ever only 20,000 of these cars built, I am loathe to simply force the bonnet open (what if it bends and I cant get a replacement?). Has anyone any ideas no matter how simple or complicated that I can try?

I hope so http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/blush.gif

I didn't, and I imagine others don't know what a Figaro was, so I did a google search and found this...

Here's a brief description...

What a cute little car! http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif

I imagine you're located somewhere in the UK, Ladyknight?
If so, you may want to try contacting this company, AutoSupplyUK.com, since they do at least sell parts for your car...

They even have two Figaro's for sale at the moment.

Best of luck to you! http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif

I just thought about it....

You may be able to access something from underneath the car. Are you able to lift the car where it is and get under it?

Does the electronic device that opens the bonnet really just release the latch, or is there a motorized hinge that actually lifts it?

figaro was built on nissan march chassis.
my mom almost bought it, but she drives the new march with key-less entry/ignition system...

anyhow, i don't know how to open the figaro hood (are you from england?) but how about if the car was able to start and battery was to get charged by it's alternator?

isn't there some emergency product which you'd plug into the cigarette lighter that would provide enough juice to fire up your motor?

Good thought. Just use a car to car cigarette lighter charger. They are useless for charging or starting but should provide enough power to pop the hood. Good luck.

EDIT: Hey! I just noticed this thread is almost a year old! Your problem should be well solved by now.
