Okay, I would settle for "Near-Supercar" as well.

So how about it? Where is it? Are we ever gonna get one? Some 450-500+ HP BEAST that will just eat up the comp., of course, at a reasonable price http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

Yes, I had the GT-R in mind too, but where's the news? Where's the show car? Let's not even go that far, where's the concept car? Okay, I'll settle for even less, where's the design sketch? Well, it is plausible that Nissan is building towards it, filling out the rest of it's lineup first, and then crowning it off with the supercar.

Charlie, you do know that they debuted the GT-R concept at the 2001 Tokyo Auto Show. And they even brought it to the Detroit Show last year (I saw it in person there, wonderful design IMO). Don't woory, it's coming. If you want the latest info (mainly gossip http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif ), go the the GT-R forum. That's where you'll find more info on the upcoming GT-R. Supposedly, they will be showing the next iteration (maybe even final production version) at the 2003 Tokyo show this October coming up.

Yes, I am aware of the GT-R concept, but there's basically been no word since that hype...Just reaching out and seeing if anyone has heard anything else http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif

I'm afraid you're looking in the wrong section for that info. Like I suggested earlier, the GT-R section has had many discussions on exactly this over the last 3-4 months. On everything from speculated design, to Lotus and Cosworth helping Nissan with the engine and suspension tuning.

GT-R R35 due with Infiniti badge in 2005 around $70,000 us$
I just heard it from a reliable source in GA last week when I went for the FX traing, so hold on to your seat and save up for one.

Wonderful design? HUH???? http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif Yes, the R35 will be Nissan's flagship but in the USA, that will be reserved by the 350Z. So, that plus the expensive price tag pushes the R35 to the Infiniti marque just like Honda has done with the NSX with Acura.

The reason for delays is this - the design looks like @ss and the public loathed it...and rightfully so. It is currently undergoing a redesign and no one that will talk has confirmed a new design...if that design even exists at this point. All the news here in Japan states Nissan is expected to show it in the Summer but all the speculation scoffs at that and suggests that the fall would be optimistic.

Check out the GTR forum.
