yeah, the lineup is definitely gettin better. the fullsize truck and the Z will fill the remaining gaps in the current lineup. maybe nissan can throw a large car in the mix to battle Buick and toyota's avalon

What about Infiniti's lineup in a few years?

New Q45
XVL
I30
G20?
New QX4
Car-like SUV?

Seems like a decent lineup as well! Nissan's definately on the right track.

I think once the V8 QE makes a name (hopefully) they should drop the I30 and offer the QE in a 6 cylinder perhaps from the XVL or even a VQ series... the XVL should also be offered in a I4. This was Infinity would adopt BMW's philosophy.
I also think the Silvia should make a return to North America. Nissan should also bring back the micra (or Tino).
That would make it so that Nissan/Infinity would have a car for everyone. Can anyone say $$$KATCHING$$$

I don't agree. I30 is important to Infiniti because it is a typical luxury sedan, it does pretty well against it's competitors anyways. If they want to have a car for everyone they need to keep the I30. A 4cyl in the XVL, that just doesn't seem right, the only car that should have a 4cyl is the G20 and thats the only engine G20 should have. Finally following BMW, I don't know about that, great performance cars not much luxury if you no what I mean. Infiniti needs a broader image than that of BMW.

whenever Nissan follows other companies they don't seem to do as well. like the Q45 never really did too well against its main competitor the LS400. but when Nissan pioneers something, it usually turns out really good. the Frontier Crew Cab is a good example of this. that vehicle really invigorated Nissans truck sales. the Xterra is another good example. its really the only SUV in its size that can be had for 25 grand fully loaded (without leather and all the other BS). Nissan needs to continue pioneering vehicles like these, but more so in their car lineup. a back to basics type of Z (performance before luxury) would be a good idea in my opinion

Drop the I30. The Maxima is already competing with the AcuraTL. (See this week's AutoWeek) The new Altima will take over the Maxima GXE's battle against the Accord and Camry.
