Just test drove a 2001 Infiniti QX4 at a local dealer today. It did not disappoint. The power is a tremendous improvement, and the ride was noticeably quieter. Unfortunately, this one didn't have the navigation system.
The dealers in my area (San Francisco Bay Area) have been allotted 1 each, which they will be using exclusively for show 'n' tell for the next few weeks, until more inventory starts trickling in.
As suspected, deals are not to be had here. If you reserve one now, you will pay full MSRP. But it's fair to say that once Infiniti releases the new ad campaign and people start taking notice and demand increases, dealers will start adding their own markup on top of MSRP.
Anyway, I was convinced enough to put down my $1000 deposit. Keeping my fingers crossed for April delivery!
