Me, I'm choosing the Aztek for its larger, more useful engine, larger and better looking interior, better AWD system, and more appealing exterior appearance.

I like Honda element. I don't need Aztek's all the useful features as I don't go camping much. I like the element's small size, fuel efficient for what it is and specially the way it looks with stealies. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lemme try that poll again...I misspelled Aztek!
Although perhaps not quite in the same price category, the Honda Element and Pontiac Aztek both ephasize two attributes: unique styling and versatility.
Which would you rather have and why?

Honda and Pontiac both have neato "Compare Vehicle" utility...
Compare on Honda's website. (http://www.hondacars.com/tools/frameset.asp?Function=compare&ModelName=Element)
Compare on Pontiac's website. (http://www.pontiac.com/comparisons/comparisons_top.jsp)
Gas economy wise, the AWD 4AT Honda gets 21/24 and the AWD 4AT Pontiac gets 18/24. I find it strange that the Honda doesn't get better highway gas mileage than the 400lbs heavier Aztek....
Honda's advantages:
Price
Resale value
rear wiper
folding side mirrors
Passenger volume (by only .3 cubic feet)
Headroom, Legroom (around 1 inch per category)
The Aztek's advantages:
Engine power and torque (185hp vs 160hp, 210 vs 161)
AWD system
Suspension (Honda uses struts up front)
Child safety locks
stereo anti theft device
power sunroof/moonroof
optional leather seating
remote trunk/tailgate release
armrest storage
fuel capacity
larger dimensions
higher ground clearance
shoulder room, hip room (by a good margin)
tow capacity
power driver seat
front heated seats
seating for five
rear seat sound/control accessories
optional run flat tires
daytime running lights
heads up display
better looks... http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Overall, the Element is impressive because much that is standard equipment is optional on the Aztek...which would yield a significant price advantage over the Aztek.

ohh geez, i can't believe people are voting for the aztek. now that is a horribly ugly suv and the element is both cheaper and more functional.
you are forgetting that the element is also horribly ugly. I really dont think exterior looks should be a factor since both are ugly.

I think the Element has an appealing exterior, ever seen the new Scion (Toyota) xB? I think it's a lot smaller, but the styling is similar. The Element is just a new look for an import car. It seems like an attempt to maximize interior space on a smaller footprint. It would probably look less freakish if it had a conventional paintjob...the Aztek, Vibe and the Chevy Avalanche all look better, in my opinion, with colour matched bumpers and lower trim. The Element probably would too.

people shouldn't assume that everyone else has the same perception about styling as they do.

The Aztek looks improved after the restyle...nice wheels help, too (previous wheels were pretty goofy).
