Looks 350Z-ish in the front, while in the back it reminds me of the 300ZX.

HA HA HA HA HA!, No no no no! that is so not it. That car is photochopped, and the new celica....God, this just isn't it. Look at the left lens and compare it with the right, see the poor photochop job? They were trying to create an image based on the 2006 SC500 (toyota supra replacement) and they failed horribly!

toyota wouldn't make the next gen supra a lexus sc, would be throwing a way a very profitable and well respected name if. of course sharing platforms is always a possiblility.

Its so funny how many people think the new SC is the new supra. The SC (Soarer) and Supra are 2 totally different cars. They may share parts but please guys...

I was told by the Toyota dealer here that the next Supra and next Solara will share parts and platform of the Soarer relatively extensively.

Mtypex, why in the hell would they build the Solara on a sports car base, or a sports car on a Camry base? That just doesn't seem cost effective to make the Solara more of an individual mechanicaly. You need to stop listening to dealers! We(dealers in general) don't know jack-s*#t about what's coming. Hell most of the dealer reps know very little about future stuff.

Hehehehe, I like that. Next time, just ask if Toyota could throw in a twin turbo with the new Toy 3.3L V6 engine for the redesign Celica. Change the front look and bring back the Toyota Celica Supra. If you think the next supra will come to America as a toyota, you are high on the bad stuff. Anyone would buy a lexus for at least $50grand, no one would buy a toyota for that much. Now infiniti is bringing GT-R, Lexus will have something against it.

thats like saying the the 300zx successor is coming as an infiniti because no one is going to buy a 45k nissan. no one knows what toyota is doing, people found out about the new camry when it arrived at a dealer.

Toyota is talking about dumping the Land Cruiser from its lineup, because many customers opt for the Lexus LX version at ~$10K more. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

That looks like a photoshopped 350Z to me. Well, at least that's what it reminds me of.

I agree that the picture actually looks nice.

However, your Toyota dealer ****************ting you on the next Solara, due to launch this summer based on the Camry platform. No pics, but the Solara looks damn sexy. More along the lines of the SC430 and G35 coupe. Believe that, an attractive car from Toyota. Wish I could give you more...

Actually, IMO, Toyota is a very obsessive company when it comes to brand equity. e.g. Although probably more beneficial, they launched their F1 programme under the Toyota name plate, instead of Lexus. Anyway, like I was saying, because of their obsession to brand equity, the LX will go the way of the Navigator (i.e. souped up Seqouia), while the Land Cruiser will stay. Dumb choice, IMO, but here-say tells me its true.

Ko_leos, isn't the LX470 also going the way as the Land Cruiser? I heard Lexus is going to get a whole new full-size SUV call the HX base of the Sequoia.

HX540 I heard, base on a new 5.4-liter V8.
