It could very well be based off the Santa Fe. Same size vehicle.

Well choice of engines are 2.0-liter inline 4, and 2.7-liter V6. Maybe Kia will make it a more luxurier version of the Sante Fe.

actually I think Hyundai carries the luxo mobiles (if you can call them that http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif) not kia. actually I sat in a XG350 and the car is very nice inside, but the exterior needs work..........thinking about where hyundai used to be, their new cars look amazing http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The Sportage will be less expensive than the Santa Fe; Hyundai intends for the Santa Fe to be more "upscale" [laughs hysterically] compared to the plebeian Sportage.

Store I work for. Owners (husband and wife) take home over seven figures EACH after taxes. He drives a Sportage. She drives an older Corrolla. Strange strange people...they spend more on heli-skiing every year than they spend on cars in a decade.

actually this is based of the elantra platform while the santa fe is based of the sonata/optima platform... the sportage is supposed to be smaller and sportier. if this looks anything like the sorento it should be stright..

Not trying to harp on Hyundai b/c by all accounts they are trying harder than almost any other company, but they need to think of a market strateogy. Hyundai and Kia - what is the difference? Its like an economy VAG situation (VW and Audi.) Both brands are about the same, neither has much brand loyalty other than bargain shoppers, so the cars are cross shopped between the two. They need to differentiate the two brands for future success. I thought Hyundai was more luxury, but the Kia Optima, Sorento, and the new XG rebadge throw it off b/c I consider them nicer than what Hyundai offers.
