hey guys, looks like MITSUBISHI more than loved the 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA....it shoes in the car's design. What does the care SCREAM at first glance? Well it definately says MAXIMA, in an even uglier fashion.....wow, that is the closest design of two cars by two different manufacturers i have EVER seen... http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
By the way, its the silver car behind the EVO:

Makes you wonder, good thing the MAXY was released b4 the galant, otherwise NISSAN would be considered copying MISTUBISHI!! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/blush.gif... http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I can definitely see the resemblance in its families. This is the way car designs go these days. They sketch for years and everyone comes out with identical features. Remember 93/94 Accord and 93/94 Lexus ES? Acura and Mazda's pentagon grille? It's like clothing fasion.

The Japanese automakers' volume products have typically looked clone-ish if you look back at them a few years later. Yeah, the 2004 Galant spy pics there look Maxima-ish, but in that good "not glue on tooth" sort of way.

its not the other way around, because even if this pic is at least 4months old, the maxima must have been in the working for a LONG TIME before that, since it is out already......before the GALLANT.....catch my drift?

And what makes you think Mitsubishi designers would just steal the look and showcase the car in such a short period of time?

Mitsubishi did have the buck tooth first

This galant has a prettier face than 04 Maxima.

Ack! Just go ahead and steal my point, and make it actually understandable [i.e. concise]! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif Punk! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The grill of the Maxima looks better in person, as does the rest of the car. I mean really, the pictures do not do the car justice. The Galant looks like a Max that was left sitting in the sun to long and melted. It doesn't have the aggressiveness the Max has.

I just saw 2-3 2004 Maximas at the dealer lot (under night lighting) parked next to 350Zs and Muranos... okay, I get it now, but they still look too contoured in the wrong places.

Well, one thing is for sure, the 2004 Maxima will preform better

After I left the lot (this was late on a Friday night, dealer was closed), a 2004 Max pulled up to me at the stoplight. No joke. But we was getting ready to turn around (boulevard here), so I didn't see much 'performance' in action.

Gee, the one thing Mitsubishi always delivered in the past was style. What the heck happened to the Galant? Gone are the sharp creases and chiseled lines. Replaced with the bulbous look with a big nose and overly large headlights.
Another slug....just like the ultra ugly Maxima...

yes past, the future trend is heading toward uglyness.
old eclipse looks 10 times better than the new one.
same goes for the montero, and diamante.

Mitsu seems a little bit lost these days. The current generation Galant is pretty nice -- and a good alternative to CamCords. The Eclipse is beautiful. But IMO, the SUV's are bulbous and odd. The Lancer is a piece of rent-a-car junk. And the only thing that comes to mind when I think of these guys is zero, zero, zero.

The current Galant is mediocre and underpowered, although the exterior looks nice. The Eclipse is ugly, the "Japanese Pontiac" since the 2000 redesign.
Lancer is rent-a-car crap indeed, and the Lan-Evo isn't worth the $30K in any category other than performance.
Shitshubishi isn't the smartest purchase. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I was going to remark, but then I remembered that you only drive automatics http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Come to think of it, the base Lancer's automatic transmission is really ugly and non-ergonomic compared to, say, Honda. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
