I have been a Max supporter for years. But I think this is it for me.
I have and still feel the 04 is a great car.
But, not having kids, nor wanting kids. Having another Max in family (wife's 99 Limited)...
I cann't see paying almost the same amount of $ a G35/G35C. I drove a 6MT Coupe yesterday. It's more of what I want in a car. I was going to do the SUV thing again (bad winter), but that is overkill for 10% of the time I'm on the road. I'm going to miss my AE, but ...
I would have bought the 04' if I couldn't fit in the Coupe, or find a used GS430 for about the same price.
You know we are strang, we look at cars as if they are friends and foes, and I feel like I'm betraying a life-long friend.

The Maxima is a FWD car... for the same price, yeah, you can have a G35, but the point is offer both a luxury FWD and a luxury RWD car in the entry-lux price range. It'll become simply silly, though, if Infiniti brings over the Teana (looks nice) and throws a pricey FWD car into its lineup. This is why the I35 is going down.
I see two potential problems for the 2004 Maxima, those debated endlessly here: 1) torque steer and 2) 2004 Acura TL.
Despite the poll, I don't think the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix is much of a concern for the Max... http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Jbgoodmax, as long as you're cutting and pasting this thread in both Max forums at Freshalloy and , you might as well paste it the Car Lounge section, the G35 section, and over at **********************(oh wait, you already did that!).

Does this anger you? I posted in forums that I have been apart of for the past ...
You may have some issues. But Fact is, I didn't cut & past in the G35 forum, and I didn't even post in the Car Lounge section.
Oh, but being the whatever you think you are you knew that !!! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You need to learn to READ CAREFULLY before responding to a post. Concentrate on READING rather than flooding multiple forums with the SAME post. Complete sentences in your posts would also be something to consider. You do have your cut and paste down pat, though.

I'm "reading" and you assumed (incorrectly I might add) that I did cut and paste to the G35 and Car Lounge section! (but you can not be wrong)
Anyway I'm kicking myself for responding to this childs play.
You "seem" to be a person with issues, and likes to be judgemental. That's cool, judge me, my posts or whatever.
I hope I reach you level of prefection. I still mistype, misspell, ... and reply pretty fast. Like many others in this forum.

My only issue is with your post/thread whoring. If you're going to do it, at least be more creative that cutting and pasting the same dribble verbatim all over different forums.

The G35 Sedan and the 04 Maxima are not that far off from each other. Granted in terms of all-around performance the G35 going to win there since it is a RWD car. But there are some cool features in the Maxima that is not in the G35. The rear bucket seat are nice, the skyline view is a nice added on if you don't want the sunroof, more room, 8 speaker Bose system, heated steering wheel. When you compare a full loaded 03 Maxima to a full loaded 04 Maxima there is LOT more features that you had never seen before in the Maxima line-up. Even if it a fully loaded G35 there more in the New Maxima.

It was a hard choice for me. I drove the 04 twice and it is very very nice. Smooth, plenty of head room, great driving position. Looks like a lexus GS.
My final decision was based mostly on, do I really need all that space? How is the max going to hold up re-sale vs G35C? If I get a max 6-sp, I can not get VDC. I have to pay extra for a sunroof. Warrenty. Service.
But for those who may need the space, and want a 4 door performance near lux sedan. It's hard to beat.
I will continue to defend the Max on all fronts, this car is getting a bad rap.
