From certain angles, particularly from a rear, offset angle, the Armada looks strange, like 2 totally different designs mangled into one in some crazy surgical accident.

See the pic on the left.
Pictures are 2 dimensional, so from some angles it will appear that way given its unique design. I suggest you wait til you see it in person before you make a judgement.
By the way, I love it. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif 9 outta 10.

The main problem in my eyes with the truck based SUV market right now is differentiation. The Armada in my mind has done all it could do to differentiate itself from the competition. With pickups all you basically can do to make the vehicle distinctive is change the grill or different headlight treatment because anything else style wise will start to take away from the functionality of the vehicle. In truck based SUVs it's basically the same problem because you still want to keep the funtionality of the vehicle.
In the Armada they blistered the fenders, made a wavy roof line, and a high vertically placed rear passenger door handle. These treatments in the end that don't take away from the functionality of the SUV, but differentiate from the bread box competition and give it a aggresive look.

Its the rear fender flares that are causing the disjointed look. In light colors and actual photos it looks much more streamlined.

My first post was kinda off topic in this thread. I think it's a perspective issue. I think that the slope in the roof(which is a little visual trick they did by making a top door frame of rear door get wider as you get closer to the back of thr truck) ends just where the rear fender flare begins and also in this pic there is a bit of sun flare coming off the roof, right above where the rear door frame it a it's fattest and where the rear fender begin. This gives it that two trucks mash together look because it makes the look like it has two tops from different vehicles.
