For example:

or

Not saying thats what I want to do anytime soon. I was just wondering as I think an SR20 tuned in one of these cars could make for one HELL of a drifter.

Thanks! Those are so badass! Total sleeper. I don't know what these cars weigh but it can't be that much. Get 300hp (or more) in that car and hold on! As for really cool swaps I'd like to see (and have seen so far now) are the SR20 here, a Hayabusa engine in a Cappuccino, and a mid engine Del Sol ala Top Fuel's one they did for Option magazine.

I wonder why this isn't a more popular swap. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I believe they come in around 1900lbs.

Actually I think it is, but its just not documented on the internet as frequently as other projects. People do some neat stuff with those cars, and a lot of them leave them original(some falling apart, some show room immaculate), just depends who owns it I guess.

If I were living in the USA now and wanted a cool Nissan, I'd be torn between an Infiniti M30 with an RB20/SR20 swap and this. For convertible, definately this. For coupe, eeeeeeh, I guess I'd have to go with the M30. For a targa top, AWD (CRV) Honda Del Sol. Hey, I know its a Honda but it would be AWD.

Anyone know of any other online documented sources? Its tough for me to get US magazines shipped over here.

i'd like to see someone find a 2000. those are the most rare, esp if you want an original 2000 w/ the low windshield and the carb option.. mmm omg, ~150 hp rrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeoooooooooowrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

I just bought a 1600 in great shape with 67000 original miles. It sat for 15 years until 7 years agao when the previous buyer got it. I have never seen a car this old where4 all the stuff works! Odometer, speedo, tech, and all those little guages! It is sucha cool car!

Why would you drift one of these? I mean, you're going to break stuff, and Nissan isn't making these things (or parts to keep them on the road) any more. They're pretty rare as it is, I'd hate to see a good example go to the crusher due to a failed tYt3 DoRift0 maneuver gone wrong. Besides that, they have a short wheelbase, and they're not as "solid" as newer cars, it'd take a ton of work to get it up to spec to endure the torture of drifting..

But it's funny.. just yesterday I was thinking of the same thing. Modded roadster with NA ITB'd SR20 and standalone. Real plans may materialize this summer.
