Hey guys, since i last posted, my options were between a used E500 and used S-TYPE R, well i was checking out carsdirect.com and i spec-ed out a brand new S-TYPE 3.0 V6 with all standard features, plus XENON lights, premium package, heated seats, alpine premium sound, sunroof which usually a new S-TYPE spec-ed out with all that costs around $49,500 but on carsdirect.com, their price is an UNBELIEVABLE $39,400!!! OVER A $10,000 SAVINGS!!! For $39,000 you can get a fully loaded INFINITI G35, let alone a brand new $50,000 JAGUAR! I was SHOCKED! Looks like that is our choice, but dont worry, this is just my mom's car, I will DEFINATELY get an INFINITI in a next year or so when my job picks up http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'd take a G35 Sedan anyday over a 3.0...even a 4.0
Now S Type R...that's hard...

dog of a car meaning? It actually isnt my choice to get this car, it is for my mother, whom asked me to help her out with buying a car, so for a $50,000 car, $39,000 isnt bad eh? haha, anyways, if i ever spend that money on a car, it will DEFINATELY be an INFINITI! BELIEVE ME! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

to me its like buying an es300.
sure its nice inside, but thats about it.
it will feel a little fast, but its no where near the power you need. I use to beat them allot in an X5 3.0 !
Given the choice, would I take a G35 over it. Probably not, being that it is at a different level of refinement.
I would take a 525i over it, new A6 over it.
Hell your mom might be able to pick up an S4 http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I had a chance of gettin a Brand new Milennia for 21k fully loaded, or a Lincoln LS laoded v6 for 23k. Awesome prices, but in the end if I went for those cars, I knew I wouldn't have been happy at all.

How about a brand new '03 Max SE AT (no options) for $21K.

You guys complaining about the performance of the S-TYPE 3.0 are totally missing the point, how many times does he have to say that it's for his mother who doesn't care about 1/4 times or top speed.
fatddyslam69, based on the criteria you posted in this and your original thread, that S-Type @ $39K sounds like a perfect match. I say go for it.

Then all the better. Hummers are quiet popular these days with females. So she can have looks of Jaguar, while driving experience of a hummer http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I think im trying really hard not to get it.
To me, the
ES300
Type S
3.5 RL
Are all overpriced cars, that lean toward luxury, and not to an all around car.
They are no smoother than a 5 series or E Class, yet can't handle like one nor move like one, brake like one, nor keep its value like one.
That's where im comning from.
But when it all comes down to it, I guess its what makes her happy.

OVER A $10,000 SAVINGS!!! For $39,000 you can get a fully loaded INFINITI G35, let alone a brand new $50,000 JAGUAR!
That's almost like printing your own money!
Here's how I see it:
I'd take a G35 over a Lincoln LS ANY DAY.
The S-Type is a gussied-up Lincoln LS.
Therefore, I'd take a G35 over an S-Type.

overall they are more solid
525i < 8 second car its good enough, handles nice,
I would feel my mother would be safer in that.
A6 -> pretty quick, nice interior, handles ok.

DUDES< come on, stop playing dumb. My mother is 59 years old, whereas, well, i am not. She does not desire to speed in her car, or do well in slalom testing. She does not need a high 0-60 time. She needs a mushy ride, with a little extra power because she does hit the pedal to the medal some of the time, all mixed into ultra-luxury. Combine that with her lifelong dream of owning a Jaguar, and couple that with a $10,000 savings on the car through carsdirect.com and that is an equation for a mother's car to drive. Me, on the other hand, will also use that money on a more sporty car, but wait, THIS ISNT MY CAR, AND BECAUSE IT IS MY MOTHER'S CAR AT HAND, THAT JUSTIFIES THE JAGUAR! Get it? GOOD! jeez... http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif
