This is the gogiolla T-rex. It was shown at the 2000 Geneva autoshow. It is based on the hummer H1 and uses all it's mechanicals. Personally I think if they wanted to come out with a new hummer this should have been it, it's definently less ungainly then the hummer.

Nicely colored interior, but with an ungainly ass like that, I would rather have an H2, or even the older H1!

ya know, as much as a hate SUVs....this isent really an SUV

the cargo area with the multilevel seating

christ, it looks like they are sitting on the bridge of the starship enterprise from the next generation...seriously, i have sat in RVs with more intimate driver/passenger relationships....the international truck i drive on the weekend has less space between the driver and passenger

i think it would be kinda cool to rent one as a limo

fortunately i think that totally crosses the line away from a car that any person would ever drive regularly....thats somthing i wouldent get without a driver so that i can play tennis or hang out with my 35 hoochies or jump on the trampoline in the back

J-Lo of SUVs, that's a good one.
I think Jeep/Wrangler would have sue (again) and won though.
Interior interesting and the Starship Enterprise kinda hit the spot.
Probably good only for safari tours IMHO.

Wookies don't live on Endor... probably because they moved to HUMMER division of GM.

Or is it the next generation of Jeep Grande Cherokee Laredo Gorgonzola Supreme??

People buy hummers for its looks. If they made that, people would just think its a grand cherokee on steroids. They buy a hummer for the image they get with it. GM sold a JLo-sized buttload of them last year, which surprised the heck out of everyone. Now if they sold the H1 with that interior...now that would be a real winner. GM, take a good look at that interior.

I think it's boggling, even GM can't figure it out.
GM tries really hard to sell certain cars and can't.
Other cars, they don't even try, charge a huge amount of cash, and it sells like no tomorrow.

Hummer and Cherokee crossover, step down or step up? I mean way up look at the size of it. and they plan to market it where? Europe? Dunt think you'll get much buys there let alone here in Home Turf. 195hp you've got to be kidding me, a 20k Xterra/MO/RX330 will have more use than that thing. Kinda looks like it belongs in a GIJoe episode.

195hp you've got to be kidding me

Its a 6.5L turbo-diesel. Sure there's no hp, but it probably has close to 600ft-lb's of torque. Diesel's are known for their immense torque output.

That things weights a little 1.5 tons, impressive, what is made of fiberglass? I do like the interior, there's lots of space, I'm not sure about the use of it. I mean you could probably fit a gucci in the middle of that thing. As for the exterior it does resemble some sort of spider or a bug. Hey I know what it looks like. I don’t know what it’s called? What I do know is if you get to close it will raise its back end up and spray something out that smells like urine. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/blush.gif The sun/moonroofs look intreseting.

Here's an article I found from Car and Driver about the T-Rex

Upfront: Coggiola T-Rex
Bigger than yours. Way way bigger
By John Phillips
August 2000

Having evidently examined the Chevrolet Suburban and Ford Excursion and found both lacking, Italian design house Coggiola (that’s pronounced “ko-gee-yo-lah”) has decided that a sport-ute simply cannot be too large. That’s why it hopes to produce 50 copies of the seven-foot-tall monster depicted here, the Coggiola T-Rex, built atop a Hummer chassis and powered by a 6.5-liter turbo-diesel.

The T-Rex features 16 inches of ground clearance, a track of more than six feet, a crescent-shaped sunroof, retractable running boards, theater-style seating in the rear, and a section of carpeted floor space sufficient to accommodate your average NBA playoff game.
Immensity has its drawbacks, of course. To attain 60 mph, the 7050- pound T-Rex requires 18 seconds of general wandering and snorting and possibly a stop at a Mobil self-serve and then tops out at a piddling 83 mph. To buy a T-Rex, you’ll have to cough up $715,000 and a certificate proving comprehensive mental incapacitation. Given the current financial woes besetting the Sultan of Brunei and his brother, however, you won’t have to stand in line with the riffraff.

C/D has learned exclusively that investors originally intended to strap sponsors onto the T-Rex and submit it for use as a ferry, although his plan was canceled when the vehicle caused the English Channel to overflow. —John Phillips
