Went to the local Nissan dealership today to check out the Nissan Pathfinder Armada. I wanted to get a feel of what the QX56 may be like. It's a big SUV. Bigger than an Expedition but not as big as a Suburban. I'm not into those SUV's that can't fit into garages. I think the Armada is just big enough without be obnxiously huge and long. The size does eclipse the Pathfinder, Xterra, and Murano. It has an agressive fascia like the Titan. The lines are very angular. This does not fit in with Infiniti's more curvacious styling. The entire car is tall and has lots of bulk. I mean thetop of the roof is tall but the bottom step does not look that far off the ground. So there's alot of car in between. The rear end looks glued on behind the passenger windows. This is my biggest complaint with the appearance. The rear is boxy and does not flow with the front half body lines. The exterior paneling / parts (eg. wheel arches, bumpers) does look somwhat cheap but alright for a mainstream car. I was not able to sit inside. There is alot of room inside. The 3 rows of seat all look comfortable for adults to sit in. There is a ceiling panel that runs the length of the car. It has storage, CD, and A/C running from it. There is an average size sunroof. It would be nice to have one of those panarama roofs like the new BMW X3, Cadillac SRX, etc. There's enough roofline for two panaramic sunroofs. I hope Infiniti can differentiate the QX56 enough from the Armada. The Armada has potential as far as size but needs more refinement in it's styling and parts to be an Infiniti. By the way, the Armada I was looking at was around $36,000. You can expect the QX to be alot more if they add all of the bells and whistles.
