Whoa!! Is that the real deal??? its ok looking...but IMO is kind of a disappoint...i expected more drastic change in the interior. ....the outsides really elegant with that gold color....sorry to say it, but i dont think it will win over any lexus or range rover customers....still, a great first effort by Infiniti....

what an EXTREME, and UTTER DISSAPOINTMENT!!!! Why would ANYONE buy this, when the ARMADA looks better, for less money? i hate to be the worry wort, but this thing, IMO, will NOT SELL!!! The interior of this thing should have been what the ARMADA should have looked like, and the new SUV for INFINITI shouldnt have even been CLOSE to the ARMADA....very very VERY DISSAPOINTED! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/tear.gif
come ON, at least, if the exterior looks so bland and similar to the ARMADA, the interior could have been something to BLOW US AWAY!!! jeez.... http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/rolleyes1.gif

I totally agree- and i knew that this would happen- i feel that once the I30 is gone -if thats what there going to do, then its not as bad but this is still bad-and i hate to say it but sort of stupid-i mean cant the people that they hire to make decisions there be a little smarter and learn from the past-or at least just have brains at all and see that these 2 trucks look much too alike-THEY DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO MAKE A NEW FACE DESIGN FOR IT-ITS THE SMAE EXACT THING AS THE QX4 -and yeah i know its not exact but u know what i mean-and the worst thing is that they dont change the door handle to put it in the right spot-its such a distincnt thing on the Pathfinder and the Armada- and i know that it might be hard to do but even if the truck still had the same roof line the door handle being moved would make a big difference in my eyes. <font color="blue[/img] </font>

I want to say this is REALLY DISAPPOINTING
Did Nissan go back to their old styling? I hope this is not the exact style& This really disappointing& this so bad I am a hardcore Nissan/Infiniti fan, but this is extremely disappointing May be it look better in real world& I hope it does

I would love it if Infiniti made us wait another year if they pulled the plug on that monstrosity........this thing screams "Armada dipped in gold". have they no shame http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif, I mean, I new the exterior was going to look basically likethe Armada but the INTERIOR!!!!?????.....COME ON!!!! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif...........I'm so disappointed that I hope this vehicle bombs on Infiniti just like the Q45 did http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif...........this is not going to help their image at all. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/rolleyes1.gif

Hopefully it wont have the same horsepower as the Armada, the Front Clip isnt too bad, but interior is another story considering the fact that INFINITI said no more rebadges. Well at least if you are going to do a rebadge, come up with a completely different interior http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Then again maybe the pics arent of the final production model QX56 ?

http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/mad.gifI cannot believe this! How pathetic!
Nicfe interior, it will not stand up to the LX470, Escelade, and Navigator. That interior has far too little wood, and the headlights are the same(look at the circle within the headlight), and the interior is SO different; they even changed it from gray plastic to, OMG MORE ALUMINUM! Oh joy, another Q45! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/rolleyes1.gif

God Damn Infiniti again and again for screwing up. They never have consistency in their models and they PROMISED NO MORE REBAGED CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My QX4 which was a 2001 had a much more beautiful front than that lame looking Ford kind of front in the QX56. My son's school bus looks like that in the front!!!!!!!!!!!

the exterior, while it could maybe be a photoshop, looks like what INFINITI might do. The only reason i dont think its real is because the "preview" on the INFINITI website shows more chrome around the windows etc, so that is why i think its a photoshop. The interior, the more i look at it, i truely believe is a photoshop, so ill wait before i make one last final judgement, but as of now im still dissapointed! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Any ideas about where these pictures were taken? May be it's one of those 'evaluation' events where Infiniti invited some people to evaluate the QX. May be the one in the pictures was only used for exterior evaluation but not interior. I think the interior pictures aren't photoshoped because you can see the reflection of wood on the instrument panel. Either that or it's an excellent photoshop.

well the interior definaly is a photoshop i hope it is not what infiniti is going to do (just slap on a infinti steering wheel cover and clock) i expect a more elegant restyled dash and interior so infiniti can gain "the high quality interior" by reviews, they know where to spend their money but will they. the outside i think is a good preview. i was thinking more flared fenders to smooth out the truck but we'll see

Those pics look fake to me as well, but I digress... guys, some of you need to calm down. It was said all along that there would be no more rebadges with the exception of the full-size SUV. The actual production model must have more visual flair to differenciate it from the Armada than is seen here. Supposedly those who have seen the real QX say it looks spectacular even next to the Lexus competition. Not to mention the preview on Infiniti's site has more exterior detailing.
I wanted to touch on the interior, becuase I honestly think the Nissan interior bashing gets out of hand sometimes; I guess this is the price they pay for releasing the Altima as it is. The Armada's interior is very good in its class, and there even was a review which mentioned lower surfaces that are hard plastic in other recent Nissans are indeed soft-touch. And even the interior pictured above is better than the domestics-- Navigator is nice but too plasticy, and the GM models all have ugly, poor-fitting interiors that make the Altima look like an Audi. I imagine the real QX will draw alot of inspiration from the Q45's interior, but we shall see.

I dont know why so many of you complain about the looks, even though this seems like a photoshop and not the actual car, it is still not bad. What is so appealing about the Lexus Gx *whatever its called. That Lex is just plain nasty, what ever the car turns out to be, lets just hope its a good seller, thats all the infiniti need right now.
Alright everyone chill!
first point, someone above said this is a rendering by automobile mag!! lets hope they are right
second as to how this compares to other cars in teh segment, exterior is lackin agaisnt navigator and escalade, but the interior is better than the escalade, it looks better than the lx imo
that said this is a very disapointing effort by nissan if this is final production, thenthere is little at all differentiating it from the armada
look closely at those pics, thay are very fuzzy, the interior shots, look at how black the compartment for the guages are, that doesnt make sense unless they are gonna be some sweet guages, and the gps screen looks absolutely fake, it looks aftermarket or somethin.
look on the exterior, the chrome is in the wrong palce comapred to the infinti website

That was the pic i posted and then deleted it. I'm talking about the last pic on that page, that pic was in a magazine. The other pics are not renderings by any magazine as far as i know.
i thought infiniti said that the interior would be largely changed, so far all i can tell is that a lcd screen will be standard, theres the infiniti clock, the guages will be backlit like acura and q-45 ones, and theres some metal accents and wood but not ENOUGH
alright lastly, besides the fact that the chrome is in the wrong place, look at around the wheel wells, that lokos photoshoped to me, and what is tha tin the middle of the step rail, very weird lookin thing... wat do u guys think, use the infintii webvsite as a reference.

I totally agree. I like it ... but was really expecting major differences between the QX and PA http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/crazy.gif It just looks way to similar to the Armada ... and the diff in price will probably keep people out of it.
Of course, I guess it boils down to exactly what Toyota has done with the Land Cruiser and LX470. They too look the same except for some minor trim pieces and a hefty $10K+ difference in price. Yet the LX sells.

Actually!
They are most likely not real and therefore Nissan threatend them to take them off and stop causing the confusion as they(the website) give the appereance of being Nissan approved or run by.
Then again...lol

I agree with stoked. If nissan made them remove them from the web, and everyone thought it looked like crap, there probobly not real. The last thing they need is everyone thinking the qx is garbage before it comes out. And if they are real well nissan better listen to everyone and fix it. I didn't get to see the pics so can someone post them in the forums.

Fake wood? Doubt it. This IS and will be a good automoble, dare I say best in class. I wish Infiniti could have spent more$ on making different body panels however.

Correct me if I am wrong but it looks like the QX56 differs alot more from the Armada than meets the eye. Maybe it is just the resolution but, the slopping back window does not have that hard angular beveled edge. And from the A- Pillar foward it looks as if that is softened and rounded to give it a almost QX4 look( only seen from the side - look at the hood). But upon closer review. It did not pass the "to scale" test. From the bumper to the light to the wheel well is just not as long as it appears on the Titan or Armada. Look for yourselves on a side picture. According to the test mule photo there is a large protrusion found, just like in the titan and armada, from the front wheel well on to the tip of the bumper(a bulbous look). These are very fake. I'll put money on it.

I'm inclined to think those pics are legit. Am I dissapointed? Not really, as long as the interior materials are rich and substantial, which they appear to be. It would be better if the Infiniti looked more special than an Armada but then again maybe Nissan is taking a page out of the Lexus playbook. The Toyota Land Cruiser and the Lexus LX470 are vrtually indistinguishable from one another.
Yea, everyother company has done the same thing thats for sure. But it looks like the interior plastics and what not are indentical. And yea, the wood trim probably won't be fake, i was being sarcastic, but I'm still waiting to see what is different on this thing besides some wood trim and a couple body panels.

I agree that we all knew the QX56 would be a rebadged Armada, people shouldnt really be surprised by the exterior, considering the Teaser video on the INFINITI website, its dead on with the photos http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif. I am let down by the interior http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif the Navigator interior is completely different than the Expedition, the QX56 interior isnt obvious, its more like when you play that game with two pictures that are very similar but different ' Can you spot the difference ? ' For $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 the differences should be obvious, you shouldnt have to study the photos and say " Okay i see what they did, the INFINITI version has an analog clock right " ? http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

hey guys we havnt seen the doors yet lets chill for a lil bit, maybe we get some nasty wood on the cealing and doors with leather trim that would rock, if not nissan gay
anyway i guess its not too bad its better than the lexus imo and the escalade, def not the navigator and the sequioa has the same rich fealing to it...i just want to see better body work and a nice center stack and WHY THE HELL DOES NISSAN USE THAT UGLY YELLOW WOOD< IT SUCKS, dark cherry's and mahogany's and wlanuts are the way to go., car would be much better with a lil more brushed alluminum and shiny aluminum, damn it im goin into auto design i would rock at it

Like it or not, that's it for sure. The "yellow wood" isn't on all models, the wood color varies with trim color. The other wood is a more cherry color.

the exterior holds 85% true. The only things missing are the chrome accenting, and the lit running boards (similar to that on the EXPEDITION.) Interoir I think HAS to be fake, Infiniti's not stupid, they know how to sell a car(with new Nissan's managements help), just look at the G and FX. They know what killed them. The exterior could probably bemostly right, but I think they might change some parts of the doors to either make it look more edgy or soften it up.
And whats wrong with yellow wood. Its butter.

I am pretty sure that the unit in the pictures is the unit Infiniti used in their original focus groups. If so it is not the final version and if that is the case there were quite a few interior upgrades made AFTER the focus groups gave their feedback. So the interior pictured is probably 75% and the exterior is probably 90%.

Sorry guys - that's the real thing, inside and out. Participated in a test market forum this morning - we looked at (and drove) the QX56, Escalade, Navigator, and the Lexus GX. The QX56 looks exactly like the pics, right down to the butternut colored wood - the interior looks better in person than in the pictures - workmanship is top notch. Exterior is butt ugly - really looks like they took an FX, flattened out the front grille & stuck a box on the back. Target retail price is going to be about $47K+, to compete with the others I mentioned.

Infiniti's website has some link about the QX56...flash program thing with foggy shots of the exterior. Looks the same as the pictures earlier in the posts. I guess I thought there'd be more differentiation than just a new front clip. Even the tailgate is the same but with the Infiniti license plate "brackets" on the top and bottom. I understand the need to make it profitable but if the differences are too few and far between, I think people would probably pop for a fully loaded Aramada instead.
if i can get a infiniti with wood, a screen standard, nice gauges, better seats and interior, and stuff the le has loaded for 43 grand i rather spend the extra 5k and get the armada cause its interior is gonna be better, exterior small details but better
o yeh, what do the doors look like, is there woods and leather, and what do the guage clusters look like and stuff, if you drove the damn thing give us details man
by the way if infinti's smart they would have made this more carlike and softer than the armada, people who want a luxury suv dont need a offroad beast

I sent 2 emails to Infiniti....I think everyone at FreshAlloy should try and contact Nissan/Infiniti and tell them how dissapointed we are about the upcoming QX56.
Inifniti has to totally makeover the interior of the QX56 and try and make some changes on the exterior too....I wish they can get rid of the bent in the Armada and replace it with nice smooth curves and also completely change the back door of the Armada and replaces it with a nicer door for the QX56.
Please let as many people as possible contact Infiniti and let them know we are all dissapointed on how the QX56 looks.....The interior of the QX 56 should look more like the Interior of the Q45 not like the Armada..They should remember that the QX56 is an Infiniti not a Nissan....

On the bottom of the article, you will notice references to the QX56 which pretty much confirms the pics (IMO):
Next on the plant’s agenda is the Infiniti QX56 launch, which may be moved up from its early-January target.
“I’d like to see us really start Infiniti before the holidays,” Hassan says.
The plant already has built two production trial batches, which identified some supplier problems. The company will execute a final trial batch before production officially begins.
Infiniti’s Job One in some respects should be easier, since the fullsize luxury SUV is based closely on the Pathfinder Armada, says Larry Dominique, chief product specialist/director-product planning, NNNA.
Still, there are major differences between the two, including different performance characteristics, noise, vibration and harshness targets, and ride characteristics. The QX56 also sports a different front fascia.
Dominique says Infiniti is in the process of finalizing towing performance and accommodating last-minute changes to its seats, as well as additional luxury improvements. The changes are necessary, he says, as the vehicle was originally planned three-and-a-half years ago, and the competitive set has evolved.

Here's another generic article on the new Canton plant:

I think we should take those pictures with a grain of salt, cause they have pics of an upcoming G35 wagon in the same section. but the thing is, that the G35 pics were the ones that were shown on thehollywoodextra.com since last year. those photos were photoshops of a Nissan Stagea made by Vince Burlapp.
G35 wagon:

its not strange that they said 3.5 years, cars go into research years before they come out to devolop and test ideas and stuff, they just dont bang them out whenever they feel like it
look at the gtr it'll be 7 years by the time its comes up
i think nissan made it pretty apparant that a great deal of research and developement went into the armada and titan

When I read that, I took it as them meaning that they had *built* that SUV 3.5 years ago and up until now, they were barely changing it... I know research and so forth begins years prior to anything being released.
