It looks like a cross between a Toyota MR2 Spyder (cute front end) and a Dodge Viper (profile), stuffed into a Corvette chassis.

I've always liked Corvettes, i hope the interior is a big improvement over the C5, i still like the C5, the C6 is more defined, muscular, i like it. This is the first Corvette i would actually buy.

I am sure it'll deliver the performance, but as far as the styling goes, front end looks rather generic, rear end looks about the same and the interior looks more family sedan then sports car. Styling wise, it does nothing for me.

There definitely seems to be a convergence between the Viper and Vette....but I don't think that's a bad thing.

The C5 Vette has the creature comforts and real world driving characteristics that the Viper envied. And the Gen 1 Viper was just a bit...cartoonish, styling wise.

The Gen 1 Viper had the brawn and performance that the Vette envied. And C5 styling was beautiful and svelte...yet it lacked that agressive visceral edge that the Viper had.

Now both are better real world cars, and better performing. We as customers are definitley the benefactors in this battle of American icons.

From he photos above, the interior is the typical GM plastic crap with center stack design by Hyundai (sp?).

The rear reverse lamps look like they will get damaged very easily, so low. The front lamps remind me of when the 3000GT and Stealth 1st went with non-popups. The front of this just does not look like a Vette to me. I am just glad the Pontiac-looking front did not make in into production. SEE:C6 Corvette? The C5 was labled the best Vette in Corvette history, hope this C6 betters it.

BTW....it's rumored that GM is working on a $100,000 600+ hp verison of the C6 to go against the Ford GT-40.

They should do the XV-12 as a Vette when they need to, but build the Cien to compete with the GT50 AND race it in LeMans. I hope the Ferrari threat at LeMans got them to build the C6 biased for LeMans ruling.
