Default 06-07 Mesh grille installed

Got it and did a prefit before paint. Have to say it fits like a glove. Here are a few snaps. I take it to paint tomorrow.

You can see alot more air can hit the radiator now!

Same color as car. Im going to leave the mesh black. Yeah it turned out good. It matches the lower inserts well and gives the front what it need. Little sport to a sports model. The chrome grille just didnt do it.
I got mine off ebay.

Default Nice Grille

Thanks for sharing. I am looking forward to seeing how it looks after painting. Please share pics from afar after painting. I agree with one poster that it looks good as is, but I think it could be even better when the frame is painted the body color.

Makes me wonder how sharp it might look if the entire piece, mesh and all, were painted the body color. I have trouble imagining it in my mind. Thoughts?

KingKong,
How did you remove the original chrome-plated front grille??
I removed the two plastic clips from the upper surface of the grille, but there are two different looking clips at the lower part of the grille. They do not want to disengage and I do not want to break something by forcing the grille forward.
Thanks for your help.

The bottom just pulls out. May have to take a screw driver to get it started. It all snaps in.
Grille cost around $180 shipped and paint $50.
Here it is with emblem installed

I want to do chrome door moldings but havent made my mind of up yet. I got signal mirrors getting painted now. Im gonna go chrome fog light rings friday.

hehe, i'm reviving this thread.

i wish the mesh could cover the outer contour of the grill versus being vertical. i wonder if its possible to mod it to that way without much work.

looks good regardless.

Default THIS looks better?

I know...taste is very individual...but does a grille that exposes all the ugly ancillaries behind it really look good to this group?
Your joking, right?

kingkong, color match the chrome strip on the tip of the hood to your car (if you havent already). i think it would make it flow better since there isnt any chromed pieces left on the front of the car (fine, minus the mt fuji emblem)

Anybody know how the emblem would attach to this mesh grille? Is it the same emblem that would go on the OEM grille?

it wont work if you try to use the oem emblem, I think you have to get one with a flat back and somehow rig it to work.
