Thread: Military?

    Military?

I was just wondering how many people here are Military, either Active or Vets. I'm a Army vet 97-01 and now work as a Military contractor. Just curious.

Wow seems like most G35 owners are either in the Airfore or Navy. Where are my Army brothers? Either way great to know there are military people here.

The G is much too sophisticated for folks who like sleeping in the dirt, and strolling through sand dunes!

US Army '81-'92 active duty, '92-'95 Ready Reserve, '95-present IRR.

    Previous vehicles in Army include:
    Tank, Combat, Full Tracked, M60A1
    Truck, Utility, 1/4 Ton, M151A2
Carrier, Command Post, Full Tracked, M577A2
    Truck, Utility, 1-1/4 Ton, 4x4, M998
    Tank, Combat, Full Tracked, M1A1

Plus an assortment of logistical support vehicles including:
    Truck, Cargo, 8 Ton, 4x4, M520
    Truck, Tanker, 2,500 gal., 4x4, M559
    Truck, Cargo, 2-1/2 Ton, 6x6, M35A2
    Truck, Cargo, 5 Ton, 6x6, M923
    Truck, Cargo, 10 Ton, 8x8, M977
    Truck, Tanker, 2,500 gal., 8x8, M978

I thought I would make us a little nostalgic by listing vehicles in that backwards "noun nomenclature" format. So that would make my car a "Sedan, Passenger, 5-seat, 4x2, G35" LOL

If someone blows up a school with a bomb they go after the bomber ... if someone shoots up a school they go after the gun.

A privilege is just a right that has been taken away by government.

Political correctness is cowardice wrapped in a lie.

Dang, Les - you ARE an old fart ... I was only 10 years old when you enlisted! :D

I was in Platoon Leaders Class in the USMC at Quantico for awhile in 1966 before I broke a bone in the 9th week of boot.

Probably for the best, since the war in Nam was hot and heavy at the time and I was slated to be a 2nd louie leading a rifle team in the jungle.

I didn't see action, though, so I don't consider myself ex-military. I have the deepest utmost respect for those of you who who did.

Mike, being ex-military does not mean only having been in combat. We all answered the call and went where the military needed us and at any given time and circumstance would have picked up a weapon if necessary. You're a vet and ex-military as much as anyone else.
