TrueDelta reliability survey results - Infiniti G35

The latest TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results have been posted. These are for the year ending June 30, 2007. Late responses could lead to further changes, but these are unlikely to be large.

For the 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan, I have an average of 3.8 months of data on 28 cars.

The stat of 79 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.8 per vehicle) is worse than average for a 2007 model.

That said, nearly all reported repairs involved either detached sunroof trim or the passenger seat heater. Both are known issues covered by TSBs, and should not affect more recently produced cars. The repair rate will likely be much lower when results are next updated, in November. (Unless, of course, people only realize one of the seat heaters isn't working when cold weather returns.)

The results do not include recalls, warning light resets, or reflashes.
Results are posted with an asterisk for other model years, because the number of responses was between 15 and 24. In general, reliability seems about average for the G35.

Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, I literally couldn't have done it without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, I hope you'll consider doing so.

We have updated our car reliability stats for the G35 to include owner experiences through September 30, 2012.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

    2008 (G35 and G37): 42

    2007 sedan: 35

    2006: 71

    2005: 56

    2003: 80

The 2003-2006 and 2008 are about average, while the 2007 has been better than average.

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

These stats for the years we had enough data:

    2008: 75, < 1

    2007 sedan: 69, < 1

    2006: 50, 5

    2005: 64, < 1

    2004: 60, 8

2003 G repair frequency is indeed low. I haven't had to make one all year. Love these rock-solid Nissan vehicles. Thanks, Michael!

My 03 hasn't needed any repairs for going on 2 years. The last thing done was a replacement of most of the exhuast system, which had rusted out after 10 northeast winters. Since then just tire rotations, oil changes, wipers and stuff. The suspension is all original! Try doing that in a German car of this vintage- ain't gonna happen! No electrical issues either. All windows, sunroof, stereo, climate control work as-advertised. I can only hope that the Q50 and future Infinitis are this good because right now, my confidence is shaken reading about the stupid Intouch problems on forums.

03 G hardly ever has to go in for a repair. Less than 1 repair per year. At this point I don't feel like it's ever gonna end.

Same thing with the 05 Altima. Both cars very close to 200k miles. I hope newer Nissan products last this long.

In some cases the latest Nissans seem to be requiring fewer repairs overall--the Murano has been much better from 2009 onwards than the first generation--but some of the new CVTs have been glitchy.
