    M45 spanked by an S600

I have an '06 M45 sport. It's quick, but not race car quick.

A week or so ago I was cruising along at about 60-70 on a large stretch of road when a car comes flying up behind me (previous gen S600). I figured i'd at least be able to stay NEAR him.. boy, was I wrong. The slowest we were moving was probably 60MPH, and even then I couldnt touch him. I stepped on it, and started to inch away.. he stepped on it, and was CAR LENGTHS away before I could blink again. I dont know if it was a stock S600 or modded, but the thing was FAST. I was surprised...

You are talking about a V12 with 493 horsepower and 590 torqure (that is what the previous generation S600 is packed with), you do the math. I dont think it needs to be modded to spank the M45.

    Nope they're on the non-AMG S too.

The S600 is a bad twin-turbocharged mamajammer (for a huge luxury boat that is.)

Engine 5,513-cc SOHC biturbo 36-valve V-12. Aluminum alloy cylinder block with magnesium cylinder heads.

    Net power 510 hp @ 5,000 rpm
    Net torque 612 lb-ft @ 1,800 - 3,500 rpm

Yep, forgot. The S65 has like 620-640 horses. With a slightly bigger engine. Man, I would love to push that thing.

Well, the M45 looks better I think. I'm impressed by the S600's performance (my cousin has one), but I could care less as I do not fit in (or want to) with that "exclusive" crowd.

Hey, if you're going to lose a race that's not a bad car to lose to!

    detroadster,
well said. The M is a formidable ride, but the numbers alone show that it would not be classed on the same track race as the S600 - it just wouldn't be fair.

    ozticks,
you can take consolation in the fact that you didn't have to sell your soul to get your '45 versus whatever deep dark secrets the S600 driver has to acquire his vehicle - aka selling the soul to the devil...
