    My new G35 Coupe!!

    Its a 2003 G35 Coupe with 180,000 miles.
It has lowering springs and I suspect upgraded shocks.

Also runs real well,... better than I remember from my previous G35.. but maybe it's because now I am used to an SUV whereas before my G36 was my daily from a supercharged 350Z.. not sure.

Either way it looks and runs way better than any 12 year old 180,000 mile car has a right to.
Picked it up for a song.

It still looks slightly lowered to me..
    Maybe mild kit like Nismos..

But then my perceptions may have been warped since I been driving an SUV for months now.

It did hang up on a ramp at work twice....

There are some little plastic "tabs" that hang down, I scrape them on occasion if I'm on a driveway apron that has a steep drop.
I've scrapped the hell out of the lower black bit on the front lip - just the right height to catch parking curbs

Wow Fred, that's crazy clean for a 180k-mile car!

I went thru the car today to look for maintenance I could do or have a shop do.

Brake fluid: Still clean (IAW carfax flushed 15,000 miles ago)
Oil: Still clean and at the full mark, IAW carfax oil was done 5,000 miles ago but Infiniti dealers dont always report to carfax what they do... So this oil could be either near new, or its just a real tight engine w/ high quality oil used.
Powersteering fluid: Looks good ( IAW Carfax done 15,000 miles ago)

Still to check: Coolant (is still hot/underpressure from my commute home, nothing mentioned in CARFAX)
ATF fluid: I did not see an ATF fluid replace in the Carfax anywhere... Arent these cars setup so its a dealer check?
Will have the Nissan dealer do my next oil change and then check ATF.

Brakes (front): Done 10,000 miles ago
Brakes (rear) : Done 37,000 miles ago

Went to get the battery checked to see if I need a new one.
No problems it just looked old.

They said it was in perfect condition..

I also added a bottle of Techron to the fuel.

While I did all this I must have left my key in the trunk in the dark..
This includes the fob to open the trunk..

The Key release key inside (car was open) did not work!

Window was down and a huge thunderstorm suddenly started pouring water into the car thru the open window!
And I couldt raise it! Or close the canted sunroof!!

So I went and got a tarp from autozone (which is where I was) and throw it over the car.
A dude hanging out in a DHS shirt was nice enough to drive me home and back to get my spare key.

I could drive the car home but even the trunk release switc on dash and the trunk-release-turn-in switch seemed not to work.
I hear a snapped cable for that release switch is common.
Looks like I finally found something wrong with the car.

Tomorrow morning I am hopeful I will get into the trunk via the folding seats to retrieve my key+keyfob.
getting new battery for the keyfob too since its very weak.

They dont have to be reprogrammed when you change the battery do they?

The fobs don't need to be reprogrammed when you replace the battery.

And, yes, the snapped trunk cable is quite common and easy to fix. Just expose the wiring inside the grommet, expose the ends, solder, cover w/tape or shrink tubing, and tape the bundle w/electrical tape.
