    G35 stalls in heavy rain

2003 G35 stalls in heavy rain

restarts but now shows TCS, Slip and Check engine light.
Stalls again, shows same lights on restart.

    Any thoughts?

Reminds me of my issue in my 04 350Z but the severity is so much less.. that one was in limp home mode and nearly undrivable.
That was due to a leaking gasket on the old MAF which allowed it to get wet.

This car however still drives quite normal after the restart (except for the 3 lights)

Almost sounds like a short somewhere. I'd go to Advance or Auto Zone, Sears etc. and have someone pull the codes.

    Thats what I thought also.

or a leaky gasket on a sensor which amounts ot the same thing.

Stalled 4 times today in appox 1 hr of driving.
tried to get an appt w/ the dealer but wasnt able to.

But off the bat he felt cam shaft sensor ( or did he say crankshaft sensor?)
Tried to get in with Firestone but they also were totally booked

If I remember right Infiniti's have an issue with the connectors on the O2 sensors with moisture over time. I'd spray some moisture alleviating goop on those.

Cam & crank sensors were both a problem in these cars, I had to replace all 3 of mine. Crank went 1st, then 6 months later 1 of the cam's (replaced them both figuring the remaining one was on borrowed time).

They threw very specific codes BTW, I had Advance Auto pull them & when I looked them up it was those sensors. Any auto parts store should be able to pull the codes for free - just don't have them clear it.

My understanding nothing as I'm assuming it is just moisture or a weak connection. Check, clean, and spray. I would start there. I'll let Mike give you the worse news.

As I recall, I paid about $300/ea installed. The part is fairly cheap ($50) if you have the wrenching skills to DIY.
If you Google it, there are uTube's on what you need to do.

    Update:

    It was the camshaft sensor.
They waived the Diagnostics fee if I had it done there so I did...
