    Old member new 2017 qx50

Hi All, I've been a member of this forum since 2003. Why are there no threads for the QX50 or previously known as the EX/35/37? I've purchased new both the 2004 G35 Coupe and the 2006 G35 sedan for 11 years of ownership for each. Both cars proved themselves worthy to purchase another Infinti, my current 2017 QX50. Why are there no threads for this great little Infiniti SUV which is based on the great G35/G37s??? Sorry to see so little activity on what once was once a super forum! I miss those days!!!!

Hey, Bocatrip! Good to hear from you. As Fred says, shoot us some pics of the QX!

Like Bocatrip, I just picked up a 2017 QX50. Have been driving a 2011 GTI (love it and still have it) for the last 6+ years, which replaced an '07 G35S/6MT. I hadn't planned on getting the QX50, but was impressed after looking it over while waiting for my wife's JX35 in service. Mulled for a while, cut a good deal, and now I have it. Drives great, definitely reminds me of the G35 but a bit softer, and should fill the bill nicely. If it had a manual shift it would be nearly perfect; I'm 61 and it's my first-ever daily driver with an automatic.

I was taken by the wagon-like versatility combined with the decidedly sporty drive. As one magazine said, it's 85% of a Porsche Macan's performance at 50% of the price, and is certainly below the radar of most car folks. It's close to being a four-door iteration of a classic British shooting brake; a comfortable, good performing travel car with a lot of space for two people and gear such as fly rods, shotguns, skis, etc.

I've seen photos of the upcoming 2018 QX50 and do like the look better than this 2017. It may turn out to be far better, but I'm not about to beta-test the new variable compression engine tech... pretty complex and it seems like a lot could break.

Fresh Alloy is so old.. I don't even know how to react... It was wonderful when the G35 was introduced and it was on fire! I'm just here to say hello to my Infiniti /Nissan friends. Not trashing any of these cars as I now own a very expensive 2017 QX50 purchased new! and it was damn expensive. I do enjoy it but I'm older than my first introduction to Fresh Alloy... won't be keeping it that long ( can't live that long! lol). I hope this site continues... Good luck to all.

Palmerwind...Is this site part of your job? You bring back many memories. You were always very helpful when I joined Fresh Alloy maybe in 2004?? What are you doing now? You can't just be the care taker for Fresh Alloy.. Please tell.
