Get your tires balanced : )

Did tire balancing first on my Xterra hwere I knew I needed it.. and next day since it was so cheap (30 bucks) did it for my pthafinder too.
I thought my Pathy would only need minor adjustments but 2 tires apperantly really needed it.

Biggest bang for the buck in improving road feel and ride!!

    Good advice.

Many people balance them every time their tires are rotated. I rotate mine every 5,000 miles, but I don't always get them re-balanced.

I assume you meant $30 per tire. I think if you spend the right money up front and get some good tires then let it go. All the costs associated with maintaining tires costs more than just getting new tires. A general statement. Rotate a bit and let it go. If your car eats tires, get a different car, should the cost not justify the expense.

I've had my car for 4 months now and 17000 miles. I did not my tires rotated or balanced yet. I always hate changing tires because for some reason they can never balance my car right or it's just never the same as it was brand new I have to take it back 3 times for them and get it right a different places. Recently I got tires changed on a Sienna that I have to maintain I put Michelin tires on there and the shakes badly now. Is it really that hard to balance tires? I got them done at the dealership first you cannot got them done at a local tire discount spot and still it shaking

No, 30 dollars for balancing all 4 tires.
    It included a tire rotation.

At that price I cant say No.

It really depends on who does them if they are done right or not.
Most places dont do them perfect... but they should definitely be able to do it well enough that any unbalance it not noticeable by the average driver.

The guy who did mine I slipped hium a 5 as a tip before he did the work.
He remembered me when I came in next day with the other truck and also gave it TLC.

Smoothness definitely improved on both vehicles even though at least one of them the tires had only 10,000 miles on them.

Hardly anyone does it any more, but I think balancing the tires ON THE CAR is the best method. It takes into account slight imbalances in the rest of the assembly. But the guy doingit has to know what he's doing.

I've never really had any trouble in the last 20 years with tire balance, but then again I don't generally keep a car more than about 25-30,000 miles.

Well I would take it to some place else. If you are going to a chain store they don't pay people real well. Just find a garage with a good Hunter machine. It is not rocket science. You could also have suspension issues which balancing won't solve. I would also check Sienna forums for the issue you describe. Sometimes certain cars just don't respond and the answer is new tires more frequently. But new Michelins and balancing problems is not right. If they have a road force balancer you can completely eliminate the tires from the equation.

No, it's off vehicle but it has a 'roller' that loads the tire & wheel assembly mimicking how the tire/wheel combo is actually performing on the road with the weight of the car on it.

They were balanced at the dealer when I got the new tires installed. It was smooth before I got the tires. I had a blowout a week later and needed a new tire so I went 2 mavis and got the car balanced again. I think ithe got worse! The suspension is in perfect condition. I had 2 get my previous altima balanced 3 times at this previous place b4 they got it right:(.

I would just go elsewhere. There machine may be out of calibration or they don't know what the heck they are doing.

    This!

A buddy of mine is a Service manager at a shop ... But he recommend to me to get my tires balanced elsewhere if I wanted a good balance.. Said his "machine is iffy" and for this reason he does not try to sell tires.
He is trying to get the owner to spring for a new one..
