    Our Trusty G35 - Lions, Tigers & Bears - Ohh My !

Well, went in for a routine oil & cabin filter change and to have them check out a weird noise coming from the back.
I've also noticed she seemed to be burning some oil lately.

Dealer says it's going to be $2K to fix all the issues - $500 for routine maintenance due, $700 for a rear wheel bearing & hub + $800 to fix leaks in the upper oil pan (which is where the missing oil has been going). Unfortunately, there are no import repair places around here I'd trust with this sort of repair, so I'm stuck @ the local Nissan dealer (who has 2 Infiniti certified mechanics on staff).

Soooo, she has 128K miles and we're not sure it it's time to dump & run or fix her up and keep going? We both still like driving this car & it's become my wife's DD. We'd only get $2K on trade & maybe $4k if sold outright. Wife's turn to pick a vehicle & she's not wowed by much of what's out there these days. She'll be retiring sometime between Jan '18 & Jan '19 and won't be doing a lot of driving after that (she hates driving for the most part).

    I'd keep it.
I regret selling my G35 cheaply even tho it was non perfect.
Maybe u can defer the pan and switch to high milage oil formulations which have extra seal swellers?

just a band aid but still....

Yeah, we're considering that option especially since nothing out there (that's within reason) grabs my wife's attention @ the moment.
The leak will only get worse tho. As I understand it, there is no gasket on that pan, it's just 'sealed' with something like form-a-gasket
