Finally we have something to talk about here:: A New Z is Coming according to Alfonso

You read it here first. Lets all start to speculate on what. Personally, I think Ford's decision to keep only the Mustang around and Toyota's Supra coming back will influence what the next Z will be. I also think an electric version will be available along with hybrid and Gas options. Read on:

Yeah, I saw that making its rounds this morning. I'm starting to like Alfonso. He's shaping up to be a good successor of Shiro. It'll be interesting where they source this project as far as platform and engines. Hopefully the VR30 lives on. So we know a new Z and GT-R are coming. Nissan still has some sense! YAY! lol
    My Opin.

Agreed. That is why I own one! Nothing like the raw feeling of a sports car with no electronic nannies.

I saw some of the insiders on other forums responding to this. The best quote I got out of it from one of those guys was, "Well, I have to say that Nissan responds well to public embarrassment!"

The scuttlebutt is that the original project for a Z replacement was indeed killed earlier this year, as we have heard. But that design studies continue and Alfonso is in charge of them. No funding has officially been designated for a new Z generation so it's still vaporware as of now. But it's not entirely out of the question.

No one expects something to be production ready until at least 2022. Same story as the next wave of Infinitis, sadly.
